goink May 1, 2012 1:41 PM (in response to Namrur)Namrur,
>>They didn't wrote anywhere that after 0035 update the board will not work with i5 2500k !<<
If you browse to:
http://processormatch.intel.com/CompDB/SearchResult.aspx?BoardName=DZ68BC
You can verify what processor and board and BIOS combinations are supported.
I am an end user (not affiliated with Intel). Though I had difficulty installing BIOS 0035 on the DZ68BC rev. 401, I was able to install this BIOS revision and I am able to run it with my i5-2500K (SR008).

46. Re: DZ68BC BIOS 0035 update: you first
Namrur May 1, 2012 3:49 PM (in response to goink)It says DZ68BC is supported by 0020... while 0020 is the first BIOS rev.
If we got our motherboard with rev. 0027, how can someone take this info
seriously, and to understand that 0028 will work, but 0035 won't?
Any way, they were not saying this at the page of DZ68BC BIOS.
I never so the page you have linked to me before. If I would, maybe I will
try to check with them if this is a TYPO, or valid instruction. I have a feelingthey would say to me what any brand BIOS download page is says:
Don't update you BIOS, but just if you must". Well, if everyone would actas this instruction says, we all may still using rev. 0020!
Actually, the fact that many members has installed this 0035 BIOS on their
"unsupported" CPU, says how much this instruction was clear to Intel users. -

0020 is the "Min. BIOS Version" required, meaning "Minimum BIOS Version". To my understanding this statement means that 0020 and all later versions of the BIOS will include support for the processor in question. This has always been the way Intel has referred to BIOS versions in relation to supported CPUs.

Namrur May 3, 2012 4:08 PM (in response to rseiler)BIOS page is up again.
With the exact same 0035 BIOS rev. which causes all new issues.
Intersting if it says this the last BIOS rev. for our board and Intel gave up.
Btw, even now it doesn't say 0035 is not for use with Sandy Bridge processorsas Intel representative told me on chat. Very unclear.

49. Re: DZ68BC BIOS 0035 update: you first
rseiler May 3, 2012 4:14 PM (in response to Namrur)They never did pull it, though it might have appeared that way. For about 3 or 4 days recently, the Download Center in general was messed up. That was corrected a few days ago. All they've done for 0035 from when it was posted last month was to add a rather subtle warning to the page. At worst, that line should be in red; at best, 0035 should have been pulled.

Jaskis May 8, 2012 4:43 AM (in response to rseiler)Almost one month now since the catastrophical 0035 release and still no action from Intel.
First I was joking that the fix might appear by August. Now I dont consider that as a joke anymore.
DZ68BC is my 9th mobo and first Intel branded. Never before suffered so much from crappy support.

yamcenutzer May 10, 2012 4:01 AM (in response to Jaskis)Is there any way to keep this thread at the top ?
It seems importatnt to me that all z68 Mobos have issues with the latest BIOS.
Intel has not yet admitted that there is general issue with this BIOS, such that applying it might brick your board.
They seem to only admit, that after applying it, you not be able to overclock something.
The latter also suggests, that they do not feel obliged in any way to provide a fix any time soon.

aris1978 May 10, 2012 4:41 AM (in response to yamcenutzer)I can't imagine that Intel will provide a solution so late. I am a DZ68DB owner with the same problem and I am waiting with patience 20 Days now. Come on Intel!

santiagochinas May 11, 2012 12:36 AM (in response to rseiler)I am one more of those affected by the installation of the BIOS 0035. I want to ask someone if they made an attempt to return to the 0028 BIOS installed after 0035 and it worked, because on the website of Intel says it can kill the motherboard. Is there a problem with BIOS return to 0028 after 0035? Thank you all.
PD: Intel, please hurry up with the new BIOS, and make the new "visual BIOS" for DZ68BC!

stephenb.b.r May 11, 2012 1:14 AM (in response to santiagochinas)Cant go back i tried it says a higer version is installed, then i red intel wrore that the 0035 makes a stractural change thats one of the reasons you cant go back, for me i've been using my mobo with ther turbo boost disabled coz it was showing 5.9GHz on turbo boost so i got scared and disabled it from the bios, its been a month now since i updated.
Intel please where is the fixed bios it better be VISUAL BIOS for the DZ68BC i'll assume thats why its taking long to get it out coz it better be VISUAL BIOS as you claim 0035 made some stractural change on the BIOS of DZ68BC

santiagochinas May 12, 2012 7:54 PM (in response to rseiler)Please engineers from Intel Corporation:
Solve the problem with the 0035 version of the desktop board DZ68BC.
Many people bought their product (which is high-end), and can not be waiting so long, and lose so much money for a serious error.
It is illogical to expect a new hardware because we like this setup.
If you are working to resolve, at least let us know.
Thanks, James Sonora. -
56. Re: DZ68BC BIOS 0035 update: you first - BRICKED MOBO
ghollin Jun 10, 2012 6:01 PM (in response to FritzCat66)I have the same EXACT problem as you and they first chastised me for updating the BIOS when there is a warning for overclocking (if you don't want people to update it then don't put it out there). Then they told me to re-install the BIOS in recovery:
Desktop Boards — Instructions for Recovery BIOS update
Which didn't work.
Now I can't get back in touch with them.
This is the most frustrating thing ever. I have a very nice new computer (my first build) and it doesn't work. Sucks man.

cprgolds Jul 1, 2012 2:50 PM (in response to rseiler)Add me to the list of those who bricked their MB with this update.
After a week of trying Victor, Alvaro, and Michael's chat suggestions to no avail, Intel RMA'ed the board. I installed 0028 and have no problems whatsoever.
I have been building up systems for about 20 years and this is a first.
Let's hope Intel sees the light and comes clean on this one.

Namrur Aug 14, 2012 10:25 AM (in response to rseiler)
They have replaced my 0035 board once a month ago.
It came with 0035 ver. and it did not work form box with my k2500i.
I've contact them again, and they replaced the board for the second time. This time the board came with 0028, and worked, but I had BSODs.
After changing SATA mode from ACHI to IDE, not blue screen anymore.
In the meanwhile, ACCIDENTLY I've boot my Pc when my USB drive conneted.
Because replacement took a few weeks, and I didn't connect my drive to other PC,I forgot that the 0035 BIOS files was still on my USB drive.
Thats was enough for this board. Now third board is a brick, but Intel
said to me they won't replace the board for the third time, so I don'tknow what to do now. I'll try to explain them, but it's already too much for me.
I'm sure I won't buy another Intel motherboard.
I didn't paid $222 for a board that you can never make a BIOS update,
and to stay with a BIOS which is ONE YEAR OLD FOR EVER,
while Intel keep making newer BIOS that will kill this board.
Intel still doesn't get the the fact there is an issue with their BIOS from ver. 0035
with some "older" generation CPUs, which are not IVY, like i2500k.Intel should take this board and built it a two separated BIOS pages.
One for all IVY owner, and one for Sandy Bridge.
