I have a Dell Inspiron N5110 and I'm having some trouble connecting it to my computer through an HDMI cable. The laptop has been connected to other TVs and projectors through HDMI, so I know it's functional; the TV has also had other computers connected to it, so it's functional as well.
In Device Manager, under Display Adapters, it lists Intel(R) HD Graphics Family and Standard VGA Graphics Adapter. I've gone to the Dell website and updated the Intel-Driver, but still no luck on connecting my two devices.
I have used the Fn and F1 buttons and selected Duplicate, as well as Extend, and neither work. I've gone through my Control Panel and adjusted my screen resolution. When I click Detect, a 2nd and 3rd monitor appear but they are both greyed out. When I have it set to duplicate on to either Monitor 2 or 3, and then I click Identify, it shows my laptop monitor as being both. When I click Extend, nothing happens.
I've restarted my laptop after connecting the cord, I've tried all 3 HDMI ports on my TV and I've ensured that I'm on the correct input.
I don't know if this is related to Intel, or not, or if this is even the correct category to be writing, but please help!o sig
