DZ77GA-70K - few issues and strange behavior

Hello,

I recently bought new DZ77GA-70K and it's running along w/ i7-2770 and 16GB RAM, GeForce 560. Bios is updated to the latest version, booting from SSD drive (Intel) using UEFI mode. OS Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, fully updated, all drivers from online driver repository are installed.

1) there are still some unknown components in Device Manager. It also reports malfunctioned PS/2 MS keyboard however I don't have any PS/2 keyboard connected to the MB. It also seems that the missing drivers are related to ACPI.

Any ideas what should I do to install the missing drivers?

2) Im unable to install Intel Desktop Utilities v. 3.2.2.046. After the installator starts and performs initial check, it ends up w/ error message that this software can be installed only with Intel mainboards. Any idea what might be wrong?

3) in BIOS I cannot see temperatures and voltages in the graph (I see the cooler's RPM numbers only) although It's possible to change the values in the appropriate sections. Also when UEFI disabled, I was unable to even boot from DVD or any connected device. Also when keyboard and mouse are connected to the yellow USB ports in MB the keyboard does not work during boot and I cannot enter BIOS without disconnecting Mouse first (or reconnecting mouse to different USB). Strange.

The 3rd part is more informational than an issue however I would like to solve the rest of mentioned problems.

Also, I am unable to complete Windows 7 rating for some unknown reason.

Thank you in advance.

FYI: other threads in this forum report that can be caused by enabling the EUFI mode in the BIOS. For now I would recommend to use one of the freeware tools to measure the temp.

Hello. I updated to bios 0045 and everything works for me. UEFI boot works and my chassis front usb 3.0 port is working. I have none of the issues that you mentioned. Running Windows 8 using UEFI mode.

Device manager shows no missing drivers.

I only have issue with IDU.

Seems that it is already running but i don't see it in the task bar when i press the arrow.

I do see iptray.exe "Tray application for Intel(R) Desktop Utilities" in Task Manager.

I will try to help you.

    1. Disable PS/2 port in BIOS. Install all drivers from Download Center.
    2. This issue occurs with UEFI boot enabled but operating system installed with non UEFI mode.
    3. Don't connect KB/MS to the yellow ports, they are used for charging and in the manual it also mentions to not use them for KB/MS. I guess a keyboard or mouse can act weird when connected to a charging port. If you really want to use them on those ports you can turn off charging for those ports in BIOS. I use a PS/2 keyboard and a USB mouse, works great. When i had a USB keyboard it worked great too.

disklikeyou: thank you for this reply. I tried to update BIOS to 0045 however when I did that, I was unable to boot from any device. Tried several config options including reseting BIOS to default etc. Then I switched back to 0039 (where it was before I believe) and now it works again as before, w/  the same issues.

Not sure why, however I was unable to boot from any device when having UEFI disabled in BIOS. I might had even older BIOS so I can try to reinstall OS w/o UEFI and do some more testing.

Will definitely reconnect my devices to different USB slots and also I should probably download the BIOS manual and RTFM a little bit.

Thank you again, will update this post as soon as I have anything new.
