Query regarding accessing LPC and DMI from Linux

Hello,

Actually I am new to the Intel Architecture. I was trying to understand how to access devices connected over DMI (Direct Media Interface) and LPC (Low Pin Count) from Linux OS. Do we need a special Linux driver or does Linux kernel already have some mechanism in it. It would be great if could point me to source code example.

The device connection is as follows,

CPU --- DMI ---> PCH ---- LPC ---> UART

We have Linux 2.6.38 running on the Intel CPU and I want to access the UART port via the DMI and LPS interface. Kindly help me with some inputs.

Thanks,

VS
