Unable to send desktop to remote display

Ugh, so I got a p2tv2000 adapter and I have set it up on my machine(Samsung rc512s02) but every time I attempt to connect I get told it is unable to send the desktop to the remote display. I have reinstalled drivers to the latest and greatest but to no avail. Additionally, in "my wifi technology" the adapter shows up as blocked. When I allow it and try to connect nothing happens and it goes back to being blocked. Can anybody please help?!?!?

Thank you for your post. There are various things that may cause this error.

The tool may block a device do to the firewall or other security software being enabled/filtering this connection. It may be due to a corrupt software (this is fixed by uninstall/reinstall software/drivers) by a failing push to TV adapter or if your system was not designed for WiDi.

Something you can do is to reset the Intel® My WiFi technology, this to clean out its registry of blocked devices:

    - click on Start, control panel, “uninstall a program”

    - Look for the “Intel PROSet Wireless WiFi connection utility” double click it, click on Next then “modify” then “Next”.

    - Look for the “Intel My WiFi Technology”, on the left of it, click on the box and select: “X this feature will not be available”

    - Click on “Next” wait for it to finish then click on finish.

    - Now to reinstall go back to Start, control panel, “uninstall a program”

    - Again double click the “Intel PROSet Wireless WiFi connection utility”, then “modify” then “Next”.

    - Look for the “Intel My WiFi Technology”, on the left of it, click on the box and select: “This feature and all sub features, will be installed on your local hard drive”

    - Click on “Next” wait for it to finish then click on finish.

Reset the push to TV adapter as well, and test it while the firewall and/or other security software are disabled.

Also try loading the listed software and drivers from the link below:

If any of these present an error let us know

I am having the same problem.

When i bought my laptop last year, the WIDI, my WIFI worked fine. so my laptop has the hardware required.

I have done everything as stated by intel. even installing the drivers in order as stated on intel website.

    I have the following hardware/driver:

    HP pavilion dv6

    2nd gen i7

Intel HD 3000 driver 8.830 (provided by HP)

    intel centrino wireless N 1030 with proset\wireless 15.6.1

Intel my wifi dashboard 15.3.1 (working fine, enabled)

Intel WIDI .....now i have tried version 3.0.13, didnt work, tried 3.1.29 it also gives the same error "unable to send desktop to remote display"

When i try to install version 3.5.40 it gives erre stating "this platform is not compatible with Inter widi"

I have already Add the Widi App and the DHCP server to the firewall.

interestingly when i tried to update the widi software thru the Intel® Driver Update Utility, it fails to detect the built-in widi in my laptop.

even after all this and wasting so much of my time i cant get WIDI to work. This is so frustrating. Intel really need to work on this. all of us have wasted so much time and energy on this......Intel either should come up with a definite solution...OR dump this technology all together !
