Intel HD Graphics 3000 version confusion

I have a laptop Dell Inspiron N5110 with Intel HM67 Express Chipset and 2nd Generation Intel Core i5 (Sandy Bridge, i5-2410M) processor.

I want to download the latest version of Intel HD Graphics 3000 driver for Microsoft Windows 7 x64.

After some search-job I've founded these results:

—, on official Dell Support Resource;

—, on Intel Support Center, search parameters: Graphics + Laptop graphics controllers + Intel® HD Graphics + Windows 7 (64-bit)* + Drivers sorted by date;

—, on Intel Support Center, search parameters: Graphics + Processor graphics + 2nd Generation Intel® Core™ Processors with Intel® HD Graphics 3000/2000 + Windows 7 (64-bit)* + Drivers sorted by date;

—, via automatic Microsoft Update Channel.

This situation is a bit confusing me, I have the following questions:

1. What is the dufference between 2622 and 2656 builds? Is it only the difference between mobile and desktop platform?

2. Can I install driver for desktop platform to mobile one?

3. Why I can't find 2696 build on Intel's Official Support Resource? And why Microsoft Update suggests me this version?

I know, that Intel suggests to use drivers, supplied by laptop manufacture, in my case — Dell, but they don't update such drivers for a long time, while Intel releases their version each 2…4 month with bug fixes and performance improvements.
