WARNING : Mine has just bricked again - 8MB. This time BIOS has issues recognizing it on boot. I used the replacement drive from Intel for about 6 weeks after applying the firmware update and now it is toast again.
600Gig 320 SSD
Running on Dell M6500 laptop using Dell docking station Win7 64 bit.
The failure might occur when the laptop goes to Sleep or wake from sleep, I think, I have hibernate disabled.
Intel - do you need any more info on this from me to help. I will report tomorrow....

Please install the SSD as a secondary drive and perform Secure Erase to clear the SSD. The Secure Erase function is included in Intel SSD Toolbox and is available for download here:

This sounds to me that Intel considers the failing of the 320 SSD, to be followed by a Secure Erase + Loss of all data, as a 'normal/routine' operation for there customers!
And still no comment/reaction of Intel. What a display of customer respect!
I replaced the Intel 320 SDD in my laptop, reinstalled the original Hitachi 7K500 HDD.
Until further (firmware?) notice I lost my thrust in this Intel 320 product!
The first time it happened Intel replaced the drive and I waited for the new firmware with the fix. Then after I applied the new firmware the new drive ran for 6 weeks about, then bricked. I haven't told customer service yet as I'm waiting for another firmware fix or other info? What good is it they replace the drive again and it bricks and I loose everything and have to go back to the 7200 RPM (old reliable).
We just moved across country and the sales receipt for the drive is in storage so... I'm SOL as this is my work/personal laptop with everything on it... I want to buy a new 750 Gig Hitachi (non-SSD) or maybe Intel would credit me for a 710 SSD series, I don't know, these are just urelated details I would prefer Intel fix the 320 firmware and then we could all go on with our lives
Interesting results of SSD reliability:
15% of 320 series SSDs have "issues" -> product is obviously defective, untested and low quality.
I'm having the same brick issue, But there is another issue on top of this. When i go to do the firmware update I get asked the 2 y/n questions about the license and then the app scans for devices, but always I get the Intel ssd not attached or disabled.
i don't know if anyone else ran into this. when i plug the ssd into a diff computer and got to MMC and Disk Management the SSD comes up has a basic disk and it want me to convert the disk to dynamic or gpt. but both fail. so if there is a step that I am missing, can someone please provide that.
Ya the first time mine bricked was definitely from sleep mode as there were no power issues. Second time I'm almost postive it was either entering or leaving sleep mode. My guess is that this occurs under at least 2 circumstances. Intel fixed one of them, the power interruption scenario, not the sleep mode scenario. There could be other scenarios like hibernate as well....
Same issue: 1 month after updating to FW 4PC10362, System freeze, then after reboot: Serial number = BAD_CTX 0000013F and size=8,4MB.
iMac 27" core i5 MacOS 10.7.2, without TRIM (I used TRIM before).
I can't secure erase the SDD using Intel Tool as it needs to unplug/replug the SSD from SATA to bypass security and the SSD is embedded inside the core of the iMac.
Anyone has a solution to secure erase without accessing to the SSD?
Same problem for me. My Intel SSD 320 600GB now shows 8MB while running in my laptop as it was the second hard disk. No loss of power or anything similar occurded. I am now afraid that my first Intel SSD 320 600GB will get the same problem. So firmware 10362 has not solved the problem. Intel will exchange the disk, but I had to live with the risk.
