why is my i7 2600k slow?
So I have testing several computers now, with i7 2600k (3.4GHz)
Otherwise if you simply changed CPUs in the same PC, there is a reason for the temperature differences between the i7-2600k and the i5-2500k. Although both of these CPUs are 95W TDP devices, and their standard clock and Turbo speeds are very close, the main difference between them is the i5-2500k does not have Hyper Threading. The i5-2500k is a 4C / 4T (4 Core / 4 Thread) CPU, while the i7-2600k is a 4C / 8T CPU. Having two threads running on a core is more work and stress put on the core, and it becomes warmer. If Hyper Threading is disabled (in the BIOS) on a CPU that has this feature, the CPU temperature will go down up to 10C under high usage/stress situations. Enthusiasts that over clock their CPUs will sometimes disable Hyper Threading in order to lower the CPU temperature that has increased due to their high over clock.
You can try this yourself if your BIOS allows you to disable Hyper Threading on your i7-2600k. The effect of doing that will be more noticeable during high CPU load situations, rather than at idle. So it is not a simple, straightforward situation that the i5-2500k has a lower default operating temperature than the i7-2600k. The Hyper Threading feature of the i7-2600k makes a significant difference.

3 Overview of BIOS Features
The board uses an Intel BIOS that is stored in the Serial Peripheral Interface Flash
Memory (SPI Flash) and can be updated using a disk-based program. The SPI Flash
contains the BIOS Setup program, POST, the PCI auto-configuration utility, LAN
EEPROM information, and Plug and Play support.
The BIOS displays a message during POST identifying the type of BIOS and a revision
code. The initial production BIOSs are identified as BAP6710H.86A.
When the BIOS Setup configuration jumper is set to configure mode and the computer
is powered-up, the BIOS compares the CPU version and the microcode version in the
BIOS and reports if the two match.
The BIOS Setup program can be used to view and change the BIOS settings for the
computer. The BIOS Setup program is accessed by pressing the <F2> key after the
Power-On Self-Test (POST) memory test begins and before the operating system boot
begins. The menu bar is shown below.

I submitted the technical data of the Intel motherboard in PDF format

CASE # 01
All settings in BIOS that save power, change cpu speed are disabled, including turbo boost. I can boot into windows with a multiplier of 47, but it is only running at 4.1 according to multiple programs. Im wondering why I cant boot into windows at a higher clock speed, and why my processor won't boot past 4.7GHz. Iv booted at that using 1.22vcore to 1.38vcore, and when I bump up to from X47 to X48 in BIOS, my system crashes during the boot. the temps stay extremely low even with high voltages.
Would a new BIOS update fix this or is that just the max overclock for my CPU. I dont have the batch number written but it was bought at the day of release.
CASE # 02
Don't use F7. That bios doesn't have PLL Override if I recall correctly. Try either the latest f7 beta, or try f8f beta or something. Use PLL override to boot at higher multipliers.
Something's wrong with your setup. Make sure you go to cpu options and set "Core control by OS" to disabled, that will gray out the "per core" options, and use a fixed multiplier. Then disable C1, C3, C6, and the other power saving options, and you shouldn't be showing up as x41.
Set LLC1 enabled.There's definitely something wrong when you say you can boot up at x47 STABLE with 1.2, but you need 1.25v for x41? Clearly something's wrong with that.

It is true that Corsair SSD currently has problems with Some Board because they are not compatible with SSD.
I believe that this will be resolved shortly.
For some board processor i7 2600k can not be overclocked to 3.4 Hz, because does not support Corsair SSD or can not withstand extreme working Intel i7 processors 2600k.
