I have 2 s5000vsa and 2 sc5299brp, but one of the sc5299brp server chasis seems that not work, when i install a mobo on it and push the power button to start the server, nothing happen and the led of the PSU turn orange from yellow. I know that is not problem of the mobo or of the PSU because if i put the same mobo and the same PSU in the other sc5299brp, its start ok and all works ok. So what means the orange led in the PSU? and how to fix this problem?
thks and sorry about my english
I have Checked that the chassis mounting screws correctly line up with the holes in the mother board.
What is a "overcurrent trip" ?
You say that "If this unit works in a different box and the MB works in a different box, then the BOX is shorting the power" so, why the box is shorting the power? can i fix it?
tnks and sorry about my english
You may have already checked this, but also look at the stand-offs on the chassis, see if any of which are hitting the motherboard.
Also, what if you move the power supply from the working chassis to the other one - see if this helps.
Check the rubber bumper too, http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/se7520jr2/sb/cs-014557.htm
& you probably have this information too, but the QSG gives you information on the stand-offs/mounting points http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/s5000vsa/sb/CS-022691.htm
There isnot stand-offs on the chassis which are hitting the motherboard.
If i change the power supply like i say in the first its the same the server not start and the led on the PSU turn orange. I had tried with 2 PSU thats are working ok in the other chassis.
I follow all the manuals to build the server, and i use the rubber bumper thats come with the server chassis.
I think that the orange led in the PSU indicates one error that i cant find any info in the intels manuals.
Thks, and sorry about my english
