1. Re: DH57DD: Ctrl-I Option to Open RAID Configuration Utility Does Not Appear
Aryan2411 Nov 24, 2010 1:17 AM (in response to pashik)Hello,
Try to do a bios recovery on the board.
http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/CS-022312.htm
Assuming that the hdd are detected correctly, it should load up the raid option rom. Check if there is any settings in the bios from Advanced tab.
As a test, check if the drives are detected as IDE.
All the best,
Kind Regards,
Aryan.

Aryan2411 Nov 27, 2010 8:27 AM (in response to pashik)Hello,
It looks like the board sata controller does not support RAID. It does not mention anything whether it supports raid 0, raid 1, raid 5 or raid 10 unless this is a mistake and they forgot to mention it in the manual.
http://downloadmirror.intel.com/18779/eng/DH57DD_TechProdSpec.pdf
It looks like a mistake since ark.intel says it does support:

All the best,
Kind Regards,

PeterUK Nov 24, 2010 3:40 PM (in response to pashik)Have you updated your BIOS or tried changing SATA ports?
It could be some setting in Intel's BIOS you need to change that causes this...but this being I Intel board...no PDF on what options you might be seeing for me to know so go play about with the options.
Ok after looking a bit more there is this “Jumper Block” page 51-52 in the PDF posted above.
From what I can work out it does not clear CMOS unless you press F9 with the jumper on pins 2-3 but it says “Configure” which may allow the use of Ctrl-I .The Normal setting with the jumper on pins 1-2 may block the Ctrl-I.
You can give that go.

pashik Nov 25, 2010 2:13 AM (in response to PeterUK)The BIOS was updated.
If the jumper is in “Configure” mode - motherboard enters in BIOS automatically. So i cann't press CTRL+I.

8. Re: DH57DD: Ctrl-I Option to Open RAID Configuration Utility Does Not Appear
Cpt.Dogfruit Nov 25, 2010 7:05 AM (in response to Aryan2411)Hi,
I have just tested with DH57DD, with BIOS 368 and i can confirm that the RAID BIOS is there and i cna get into it. I get teh ctrl+ I message before teh screen shot above, i will also test with teh latest BIOS.
I would suggest going in to teh BIOS doing F9 (reset to defaults) then go and change only the SATA as RAID, then F10 to save and then as soon as it comes out of teh BIOS keep pressing Ctrl I
Edit: just tested with teh latest BIOS and it works too without an issue.

pashik Nov 25, 2010 9:51 AM (in response to Cpt.Dogfruit)I have done all as you say, but it is no result. I have updated BIOS, entered in BIOS, pressed F9, changed SATA as RAID and save. Then I as soon as it came out pressed CTRL+I. I don't know what to do any more.

10. Re: DH57DD: Ctrl-I Option to Open RAID Configuration Utility Does Not Appear
Cpt.Dogfruit Nov 26, 2010 1:45 AM (in response to pashik)Just to check "Then I as soon as it came out pressed CTRL+I." you didn't just press it once right? you kept "tapping it"?
OK, the only other thing i can think of is setting a hard disk pre delay, although i don't think it will help but test it just in case.
Also in case you haven't already test different SATA ports.
The only other thing i can think of is the actual HDD, tehy are SATA3 arent they? so maybe the RAID BIOS cant cope with them for some reason. Can you try 2 SATA 2 HDDS?
And teh last thing, i know you have already done it once but i would say do anoother flash of teh BIOS with teh recovery method. But this time unplug all components apart from teh basics, so CPU, RAM, PSU, and monitor, but no HDDs no keyboard nor mouse or anything else connected. Then unplug teh power cord, remove teh CMOS battery for at least 15 minutes, then put it back in and plug the power cord in and do teh BIOS recovery straight away. I have sene some issue, one specifically like this that took two or thee BIOS recoveries to solve, although that was only once with this issue. It is still worth a try.

11. Re: DH57DD: Ctrl-I Option to Open RAID Configuration Utility Does Not Appear
pashik Nov 26, 2010 11:48 AM (in response to Cpt.Dogfruit)I pressed "CTRL+I' with 5 pressing per second.
I have tested different SATA ports - no result.
According to product specification it has "Five internal Serial ATA (SATA) 3.0 Gb/s ports". Speed 3.0 Gb/s - SATA2. My HDDs (WD1002FAEX - http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.asp?DriveID=792) have 6 Gb/s - SATA3. But, it's jumper, that allows to limit PHY to 3.0 Gb/s.
I have recovered BIOS in method that you wrote, but it's no result.

12. Re: DH57DD: Ctrl-I Option to Open RAID Configuration Utility Does Not Appear
Aryan2411 Nov 27, 2010 4:37 AM (in response to pashik)Hello Pashik,
As you can see, my friend Cpt.Dogfruit is helping you on this. Hopefully, we will find something soon.
One more thing:
Have you check if you have got this option in the bios?
If the BIOS setting for Addon ROM Display Mode is disabled, the CTRL-I message may not appear. To resolve this:
- Enter the BIOS Setup by pressing F2 during boot.
- Go to the Boot menu.
- Enable Addon ROM Display Mode.
- Save and exit the Bios Setup.
All the best,
Kind Regards,
Aryan.

14. Re: DH57DD: Ctrl-I Option to Open RAID Configuration Utility Does Not Appear
Aryan2411 Nov 27, 2010 6:38 AM (in response to pashik)Hello Pashik,
Yes, it looks okay to me.
Hide Oprom/Expansion text is disabled, which means that it should be visible.
Try to enable this and save and exit.
Restart the system,
Check the status
Then disable it again and save and exit.
Restart the system again
Check the status again.
One more thing, although this should not be an issue, try to enable expansion text menu from the security tab. See if it makes any differences.
All the best,
Kind Regards,
Aryan.
