24HOURSWATCH is novel mobile diagnostic platform IP. At its core, 24HOURSWATCH is a real time monitoring system that feed real time algorithms using mobile devices. They can diagnose, and in some cases predict, multiple conditions and events. This new diagnostic mobile platform could predict pulmonary cardiac emergencies and can be used both at home and in medical institutions.
Thus, the IP can be used for two major markets: diagnosis coupled with prevention of pulmonary cardiac emergencies and mobile eHealth.
Pulmonary cardiac diagnostics:
24HOURSWATCH IP will allow predicting pulmonary and some cardiac medical emergencies before they become severe, then issue an alarm through the mobile device and thus provide an opportunity to avoid their occurrence.
We developed new method and algorithms that may help predict medical emergencies sooner than competitors.
It opens several potential markets of prevention of sudden death (for both infants, children and elderly), prediction of COPD exacerbations, prediction and alert of an asthma event, diagnosis of cardiac arrhythmia, monitoring patients in ICU, diagnosis of sleep apnea and its treatment and more.
What is 24HOURSWATCH?
24HOURSWATCH solution uses real-time monitoring and prediction device coupled with a mobile device that monitor both pulmonary and cardiac performance in real time. In case of pulmonary cardiac diagnostics it alerts either user or medical staff that a medical emergency is about to occur and thus prevent or allow providing treatment to the user. In case of sleep apnea, it alerts a treatment system of an upcoming sleep apnea event and consequently prevents the predicted event from happening.
24HOURSWATCH potential markets:
There are 380m patients with sleep apnea (355m are still un diagnosed). Based on the 2011 NHIS sample, it was estimated that 39.5 million Americans, or 129.1 per 1,000 persons, had been diagnosed with asthma by a health professional within their lifetime. It is estimated that 12.7 million U.S. adults have been diagnosed with COPD. Unfortunately, research has indicated that COPD is underdiagnosed and that up to 24 million Americans have evidence of impaired lung function. Sudden infant death syndrome was the third leading cause of infant mortality in the U.S. in 2011.
Smartphone Users Worldwide Will Total 1.75 Billion in 2014
- # of all infants to parents that have smart phones
# of all elderly persons that either have smart phones or their family members have smart phones
- # of all grown ups that have cardio-pulmonary disorders
- # of patients in ICU
In total more than 1b people may use 24HOURSWATCH solution
A single device that can be applied at home or at medical institutions to predict and prevent multiple pulmonary - cardiac emergencies and diagnose sleep apnea.
Infants, children, adults and elderly people can use the device.
