Using Intel Smart Response Technology with the NUC

Version 1

Intel® Smart Response Technology (SRT) is an Intel® Rapid Storage Technology (RST) caching feature that can be used to improve computer system performance. This feature allows the user to designate that a fast Solid-State Drive (SSD) be used to cache frequently-accessed data on a much slower Hard Disk Drive (HDD). This provides the advantage of having a HDD for maximum storage capacity while delivering an SSD-like overall system performance experience.

The attached article discusses not only how to use Intel SRT with the NUC products but also how you can accelerate the performance of a HDD using only a portion of a SSD while using the remainder of this SSD as your system (boot) device.
