I just read Intel Discontinues Joule, Galileo, And Edison Product Lines | Hackaday , and verified in

that Intel is discontinuing Joule, Galileo, and Edison product lines.

To decision makers regarding Edison:

Thank you for wasting all my efforts.  You could've helped

develop these products by actively supporting them.  Instead you

chose to do nothing.  Even worse, you provided inadequate and

often conflicting "documentation".  You expected these products

to sell themselves?

I'm foolish for trusting Intel to support their IoT products.

I'm left high and dry, holding on to what is now instantly obsolete

and worthless junk. Even worse, the time and resources spent on

developing what I thought was a potentially useful product is now

for the most part wasted time, because the Edison had specific

features that I found to be advantageous.  It was all for nothing.

Your IoT campaign was effective.  I bought into it hook line and sinker.

What should I think now that you have simply abandoned your product line

with a few terse "Product Change Notification" memos?  "Thank you Intel,

now give me your next product to waste my time with, for you abandon

it later?"

I think not.
