Adjusting the Image Size
Intel® WiDi functionality, when used with Microsoft Windows* 8.1, does not currently make use of a separate software application. Use the controls on your TV to adjust the image size when using Windows* 8.1.
Intel® WiDi functionality, when used with Microsoft Windows* 8.1 Miracast framework, enforces matching the refresh rate streamed to the TV with the refresh rate of the video capture. The video stream sent to the TV can only match (at a maximum) the refresh rate of the captured video stream. When Intel WiDi captures the video stream at 1080p, it is captured at 30 fps. The video stream output matches this rate. You can change to a lower video resolution (to 720p, for example) and then the video stream is captured at 60 fps and the output to the TV can also be set to 60 fps.
Previous versions of Intel® WiDi functionality captured the video stream at 30 fps when using 1080p resolution; however, when the connection was not using the Miracast framework, the operating system did not enforce matching the refresh rate and allowed the 60 fps output setting at 1080p resolution.
