The Middle East Energy Efficiency Research (MER) Center is a consortium with the King Abdulaziz City of Science and Technology (KACST) and Intel® as sponsoring partners, along with several member universities in the Middle East, aimed at conducting cutting-edge, open-collaborative research in the domain of energy efficiency in computing. The MER Center also shares the vision of expanding technical education, talent retention and technical leadership in the Middle East, as well as incubating new technologies and innovations for the world at large. To achieve these goals, the Center funds focused research projects at the member universities, facilitates a Student Internship and Visiting Faculty Program, and last but not least, an annual IEEE sponsored international conference.
