"multiple users" error message

With a new laptop running Win7 at work, I've a blue systray icon. Mouseover shows "Intel RST service is not running."

Right-click and choosing "open application" sometimes gets me an hourglass, followed by nothing at all. But every so often I do get a further error message, stating that the problem is multiple users. I'm guessing that this is because it is, after all, an office computer, for which I'm the primary user but not the administrator. When I actually look at services in config.sys, I see only one listing for Intel Rapid Storage Technology, listed as running.

Any advice on how to overcome the errors? Thank you, John
