Intel Rapid Storage F6 Driver Not found in instillation

Hello,

I am trying to install the Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver via the F6 method. I am installing vista home premium x64. I selected 'load driver' in the instillation section where the drive is selected for the instillation. It then prompted me to insert in removable media that contained the appropriate drivers. It automatically scanned and found no drivers. I then manually browsed the folders and selected the usb that contained these files:
    iaAhci.inf, iaAhci.cat,
    iaStor.inf, iaStor.cat,
    iaStor.sys, and
    TxtSetup.oem.

in the root directory.

It gave the same message

No device drivers were found. Make sure that the installation media contains the correct drivers, and then click OK.

I downloaded the drivers from this link:

The x64 driver to be specific. Also, my computer has 64 bit architecture.

I was looking at Intel AT tech service providers here. PCTD looks like it is only for bestbuy laptops. At least that is how they advertise it. I have heard that Computrace LoJack is 100% dependent on the OS it is installed on. So if they opened up ubuntu on a live disk or whipped the OS, LoJack would be worthless.

Does anyone know anything about the Intel® Anti-Theft Service? With it, can the kill pill be sent regaurdless of the OS as long as the comp is connected to the internet?

Intel® Rapid Storage Technology F6 Driver Diskettes

I am looking to enable AHCI on my ICH9R southbridge. The option for AHCI is not in my bios. There is an option for RAID. According to this wiki article,

Intel recommends choosing RAID mode on their motherboards (which also enables AHCI) rather than AHCI/SATA mode for maximum flexibility.

My motherboard isn't Intel, but my chipset is. I can't imagine why the manufacture of the motherboard would affect the capabilities of the onboard chipset. I'm pretty sure my chipset does not have AHCI drivers. I was wondering if setting my SATA controller to RAID in my bios and then installing the Intel® Rapid Storage Technology F6 Drivers during Vistax64 install would enable AHCI as my SATA controller.

If this does work, will I have to set up a RAID array? Because I am not wanting to do that.

Drivers for AHCI/RAID

I am trying to enable AHCI for my SATA controller. It is not an option in my BIOS. I was told I need to install the iastor Intel driver and the Intel RST driver.

Does anyone know what drivers I need to do enable AHCI? I was told downloading the RAID drivers but not setting up a RAID array will cause my chipset to default to AHCI.
