Intel WiDi (4.0.18.0) keep asking for security code

Hi,

This start happening some time ago, I was hoping for a fix but nothing changed (I am now on version 4.0.18.0). Every time when I connect to my Netgear PTV2000 I get asked for the security code. I use Windows 7 x64. I think this start happening with version 3.5.x or something don't remember exactly, but for sure it was not there on beginning when I got the adapter. If I remember well the initial firmware (and WiDi version) just asked for a 4 digit code, once and I did not have to enter it anymore after. After one of the updates which includes also a firmware update the code changed is more digits and each time I connect I need to enter. I reseted Netger to factory settings uninstalled and reinstalled the WiFi, WiDi software and drivers but to no effect. So what is the fix ? Just don't tell me that this is a feature and is by design. This alone almost kills WiDi for me (it's faster to plug an HDMI cable than to key code each time). Thank you.

Is anyone else too unable to login?

Hi,

ever since last wekk when Intel unified the communites and intel.com logins, I am unable to login. I am able to write this message since my laptop at home store the login cookie. But I cannot login into this website from any other computer.

anybody else facing the same issue.

admins: I tried recover password, recover email - none of those work since the system does not even recognize my email!

WiDi don't Work

Hi all,

I recently bought a SAMSUNG ATIV smart PC 700T , and a Toshiba LCD TV (Widi enable)

I upgrade my Samsung with the samsung tool and Widi 3.5.40 is installed and Intel WIFI card 15.6.1.20

TOSHIBA LCD TV is up to date

When i lauchn Intel Widi to detect adapter !: "no adapters detected"

Firewall is compeltely disable

When i search the device in windows 8 (DLNA) i can see the device, it is possoble to connect to ..

Can someone helps me to resolve this issue , and eventually explain how WiDi works (TCP ports, etc..) ?

Error Message: Upgrade Intel My WiFi Technology

Hi,

I am getting the above message when I try to run the Intel WiDi program. The rest of the message states: This computer is capable of using Intel My Wifi Technology, however a supported version of the software is not installed. The t thing is - I have the most recent version installed! When I use the link provided in that same message, I get another message that states 'My WiFi Technology is no available as a separate download' and it tells me to download the very same software I have already installed.

Here is a little background of my entire issue. I purchased this Sony Vaio VPCSC31FM for the sole purpose of having a laptop which I could connect wirelessly to my HDTV. I recently purchased the adapter (Netgear NTV300SL).

Since the day I received the adapter, I have not been able to run the Intel WiDi software on my computer. I have received the following errors after many, many attempts to reinstall the drivers and software.

First, I ran Intel WiDi with the original drivers on my machine including the most recent software from Sony's website and received the following error:

Intel My WiFi Technology not enabled

I reinstalled everything according to the order that has been specified on several other posts on this website, with the firewall disabled and with the firewall enabled. I still received the same error. I researched this support website and tried downloading the most recent drivers from Intel's site. I downloaded these again, with and without the firewall and I am now receiving the above message when trying to load it fro the Intel My WiFi Dashboard. I installed the absolute most current driver so I do not understand why I am receiving this message. Is there a hidden software that I'm not aware of? I am at my wit's end with this. I really would like to get my money back and the months I have wasted trying to get this to work but that of course is not possible. Here is my current configuration:

Windows 7 Pro (64 bit)

Intel i52430M

AMD Radeon HD 6470M ver 8.862.4.4000 (most recent from Sony)

I have installed:

Intel Proset WIreless Software ver 15.6.1_s64

My WiFi Dashboard Software ver 15.6.0_64.msi

I would appreciate any advice.

Intel My Wifi Dashboard - Only Lite? (Centrino Advanced-N 6230)

Whatever I do, the Dashboard only starts in Lite Mode. It complains the Hardware would be able to run the Full Version, but that it would not be installed - which is not true, the most recent version of the PRO/Wireless tools (Wireless_15.3.1_s64) are installed, including the enterprise options (which I need for work). The OS is Windows 7 Enterprise, 64bit.

The interesting thing is, in the older versions that ship the old My WiFi I can easily create a Hotspot. Unfortunately this is not an option, since these old versions do not connect to the corporate network.

So in principle I'd just like to force the stupid Dashboard into the Full mode, since it apparently is a bug in detecting its own tools and drivers.

Any suggestions?

Heavy stuttering and lag with Asus UX31A on LG 55LM671S

Hi everyone,

I've got my Asus UX31A Ultrabook connected to my LG 55LM671S TV via WiDi and I'm experiencing lag and heavy stuttering.

The lag on the TV screen compared to the Ultrabook is about 1/4 second. Since I do not intend to play games with this, the lag isn't much of a problem, but I'd still like to know if there is a way for me to improve this.

The stuttering is a much bigger problem. Every half a second the picture freezes for a moment which makes it impossible to properly view any type of video. It isn't related to what is displayed, since it happens with every type of video, high bitrate ones as well as low bitrate ones, flash videos and animations in programs like minimizing a window or the visualizations in Windows Media Player.

Sometimes I have interferences in both picture and sound, like blocks in the picture or noise in the music. Is this normal or could it be related to the stuttering problem?

I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium x64 and the Intel Driver Update Utility tells me that my WiFi and graphics drivers are up to date and that I'm using the current version of the Intel WiDi application, which is 3.5.41.0.

I'd be happy if someone could help me with this problem.

Widi Dropping connection

Okay...

I am a IT Director at a High School and I have installed 5 Belkin Screencast Widi Adapters (ver. 2) and 5 Netgear Push2TV 3000.

I am using Fujitsu T732 Notebook computers.

I updated all video, widi application, and wifi card drivers.

The units work correctly but then drop after about an hour or so.

I have laptop power options set as always on so that nothing is sleeping or hibernating.

I renamed the SSID using the CMD (netsh wlan set hostednetwork ssid=smhs-1234)

With the newest wifi driver this command did not work correctly....so I downgraded the wifi driver (v 15.1.0)

I was then able to rename the SSID of the PAN network and the widi worked and stayed connected.

Why can't I do this with the newest wifi drivers you guys have offered? When trying to rename the ssid with the newest driver I get (direct-FQ-smhs-1234) and the units seem to conflict with other units in the area and kick me off my wireless display connection.

Power request bug in WiDi 4.0.18.0 for Win8

Hi.

Seems there is a bug in WidI app 4.0.18.0 for Win8.

After a connection is established to an adapter - in this test a miracast connection - when the connection is dropped, the power request for an audio stream (in this test a power request for the driver RealTek High Definition Audio) remains active.

You have to close the Intel widi program - i.e. deactive the Windows client Widi service - to relinguish the powerr request.

If you just start the Intel Widi program without making any connections - there exists (remains) no powerrequest ... thus it seems obvious this power request is a left over from the media service during connection time ... however when the media service ends - the power requests remains as if the WiDi program is still serving content.

The issue and bug is the WiDi program Blocks Windows from going to sleep - WHEN no content is served and THE CONNECTION IS CLOSED.

There is no work around - so the bug has to be fixed. Allowing Windows to sleep during media service (i.e. disable Prevent Idiling to sleep) - will of course shut the media service Down when you actually may need it. It's a bad bug.

Does the Asus Fonepad (Atom Z2420) have WiDi?

I have read that Atom Z2420 supports WiDi, but I can not find this feature on the Asus Fonepad.

Does WiDi 4.0.18.0 support Miracast?

I updated WiDi application in my PC to 4.0.18.0.
We can connect PC which installed WiDi 3.5.xx.x and Miracast receiver like a PTV3000.

but, after updating to 4.0.18.0, My PC can't find Miracast adapter.

Are there any person who can connect PC and Miracast adapter on WiDi 4.0.18.0?
