I bought a new graphics card to play games but this problem cropped up

After reading the problem, it looks like the graphics drivers might not be supporting the flavor of Linux* that you are trying to install. This does not have anything to do with the power or CPU. I would suggest that you visit the support site of the graphics vendor and check whether Linux* supporting drivers are available to download and install
