Hi,
I've a D945GSEJT desktop board, running XP pro sp3 with all current ms recommended updates.
I'm using ACPI S3 Standby mode when the board is idle for some time.
When rebooting , within XP shutdown and reboot, when standby has never been active , it reboots fine.
But when rebooting the machine after it has been in standby mode , and back(suspended and resumed), it hangs when XP is shutdown.
It looks like XP shuts down fine , but the BIOS screen never comes up.
I'm running the latest bios version :
BIOS Update [JT94510H.86A] (987KB) | 0035 | 7/30/2009 |
I'm also running all recent intel drivers from he same download location
Kind regards,
Roel
Hi,
Found some interesting links, with exaclty the same problem.
Although it has to do with a Dell Mini 9 netbook.
But when looking at the specs of this netbook, it seems that is has the same cpu and chipset, isn't it ?

Hi i have the exact same problem with the Board D945GSEJT and Windows XP SP 3.
After on Sleep (S3) windows XP Reboot hangs but Shutdown works!
Is there any possible workaround for this problem?
Thanks
Matthias
I found the solution for this Problem.
See: http://support.microsoft.com/hotfix/KBHotfix.aspx?kbnum=822624&kbln=de
Add switch in the Boot.ini: /forceresetreg
Example of the Bootini:
[boot loader] timeout=30 default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS [operating systems] multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect /forceresetreg
