Oh PHULEEZ Adeel Ashraff. You have got to be kidding!
To quote netman61270, "And finally, no offense Adeel, but from following this thread, I can see that you're not dealing with people who have never assembled PC's before. It's pretty easy to tell that most here have built systems before, and some of us here have built hundreds or thousands. I think Intel needs to speak for themselves, not spoken for by a well meaning product consumer. I do thank you for your input, though"
Hello,
I think you mind of my suggestions and i also recommend you to visit Intel's support site for manual that may work.
Indeed.
In any case, after yet MORE troubleshooting and replacing of parts, I'm starting to think the voltage regulators (or some other h/w, tracing, sensor, whathaveyou) on these boards are faulty. Also, it has nothing (NOTHING! intel) to do with the OS that is running, I've recreated this issue from within the BIOS (hardware monitor section, matter of fact) and with no OS at all by unplugging the sata drive and letting it sit there at the error prompt until it reboots. I haven't reinstalled the OS (xp sp3) but I have removed basically every other piece of software that is installed, other than monitoring stuff and the Intel control dash. Every other piece of hardware has been replaced, so I know it's not one of those.
One thing I know that DOES work, I went and picked up a Gigabyte EP45-UD3LR yesterday, and it works just fine. I can't use the DDR3 but at least I can provision the workstation and roll it out. I'm giving up on this board and hoping that Intel will replace it with a different model, otherwise it's going into the trash. Maybe I'll use the ddr3 with my 720be at home.
***ps. if intel wants to recreate this problem i will GLADLY send them my POS, for a replacement gigabyte or asus board that supports ddr3 and RAID; i could care less about the 2nd pcix slot***

Hello,
I must say you people don't like the solution that i suggest and may be i'm not familiar with your condition as i can solve these issues myself.
Hello,
Can you help in this issue i've installed a harddrive in my PC and installed Windows Vistax64Home Premium and it halts after every twenty mins and now someone can help.
Sure! It's real simple. Head over to Intel's website, download the manual and then read how to install the memory ![]()
I would have to wonder about that too, prefer_amd. I just got an email from a colleague of mine in Chicago who has 5 brand new machines he built using this DP board and the Q9550 assembled about two weeks ago. Out of the five, three have been quirky in some way. One is experiencing the spontaneous reboot exactly as described in many posts here, one is hard-locking every couple days like mine were, and one is running abnormally slow (after his troubleshooting, the problem follows the board; swapping the drive to a different machine the OS ran normal.)
All five machines have been shelved, and their core components (minus the DDR3 RAM) assembled into new Intel based machines using the
dq45cb board, and all is well.
No it's not time of joke i've to do my assignment on that system and i'm using my friend's PC.
Hello,
Please help me so i can get my work done>
To whom was wondering if this extends to other processors besides quadcore, I had this issue with a Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHz. Some of you had the reboot/lockup only after months of use, mine started about an hour after i first built the machine. I had since replaced the PSU, RAM, and Harddrive. I also tried for hours to use various drivers and system diagnostics to no avail.
My problem was solved upon buying a Gigabyte board. GIGABYTE GA-EP45T-UD3LR. Once installed, this computer has run flawlessly for 4 days.
I tend to stick to a brand pretty loyally until it causes me heaps of trouble. Sadly, the countless hours i tried to trouble shoot the intel board has lost my business for good. I'm very impressed by Gigabyte's product and its web support.
Hello,
After recieving many reviews and posts etc and i reach on point at last this rebooting or halt is caused by some software problems. Suppose if program is written in portable language it works everywhere unless it have somne errors but a software loke machine oriented software cannot be run on other system rather than for it is written there may be program language conflict and i can't blame a developer for this but board if it has no compatibility still i'm not sure this is issue coz there can be other causes but it's quite mysterious everyone face this prob with Intel mobos but i don't since i used four mobos in four years.Event those which are thought to be faulty like DG31PR and DG45ID.In fact i build those boards with the help of my Father and expert uncle. One sec it could be caused by problems having in memory locations may be. These are my targets software languages and memory locationa and hardware resource and heat solutions.May be i'm wrong !
Galushi,
I've tried the Q6600 (original cpu) and the E8400 and 8200. None of them changed the behaviour of the motherboard.
Intel did issue an RMA rather easily, however. I psyched myself up and got every thing together expecting a long drawn-out seige with them. Actually they only wanted to know what power supplies I tried, and if I tried different cpu's in the board. Including hold-time I got the RMA in less than an hour, so good for Intel for doing the right thing on this board. Bad news is that they won't replace with a different model, so I'm hoping the board I get back is a newer revision that doesn't suffer the same issues.
Hello,
I need your assistance and system's working fine but when i used to run my sys for 40 mins then explorer service do not give any response and i don't want to remove any settings that i've downloading coz i know that may be i need to Install Windows again.
Hello,
As you said i'm not dealing with people who do not know about assembly of system in your response i will also include for computer construction.
Hi Adeel,
Is your problem related to the initial post regarding the DP45SG mainboard? If not, please post it in a different thread as to not shift the focus from the actual problem. There are numerous forums on the internet that can assist you with your specific problem.
If you are in fact using the same board; please be a bit more specific about your problem and give more system specs.
