Cpt.Dogfruit,
I have had this same issue! I can run stable with 2 modules at 1333Mhz, but any more and it gets unstable. I'm curently still running 2 modules of 2x2GB, and even going as far as overclocking my CPU. It's a 9300 OC'ed to 3.00GHz (from 2.50GHz). The system won't run stable set as 1333MHz, because the ram is also OC'ed if I modify the host clock frequency in order to get an OC'ed value, so I have to set ram to 1066MHz, that way with the OC'ed value memory bus is currently running at 1280MHz and stable, solid. I've been using this setup for about a month and a half now and never had any problems. My current uptime is 2 weeks without a reboot. I have run stress tests and stability tests as well and all is well.
Just to state that overclocking an Intel board, even though the motherboard description states that overclocking is possible and they advertise to gamers that it's easy, is very tricky to get a stable result. Simply changing the clock frequency won't be enough. Voltages have to be tinkered with as well, and cooling MUST be upgraded as well. The stock intel cooler will not do, unless you've got extra fans blowing everywhere around your computer case and feeding the CPU cooler. I haven't gone as far as modifying my ram voltages, so I'm still running the manufacturer's value at 1.7v and things are still fine.
Overall from my last post, I'm still running stable with the DP45SG on a Vista Ultimate 64bit platform.

pls chk the above thread every one here and do the same thing which i have done in the BIOS and see if tht IDCC soft ware works for u to in the same senario or not? so we can all submit this stupid issue to Intel as well abt this mother board ![]()
Hello,
You can disable your desired devices through Device Manager.Note that Fire wire type is OHCI complaint 1394 adapter or something like this!.

i know very well from where i can disable what? and how to do it?, but my question is regarding with the BIOS of this lame Board. Its BIOS should be working accordingly as i want not the way the Board wants its Intel fault and they have to rectify it very quickly cos this is the 2nd time i am using this board and if i didnt see any thing at all within the week then i am sending this board back thts all i know, money dosent grow on trees where i live its a hard earned money which i spend on the intel product so i have shown enough paience now let see what Intel have to say abt it now ?
Hello,
Okay if you knew where to disable then i must say then face it yourself coz this is the incompatibity issue and you should take these steps:-
1) Disable or uninstall devices by means they are integral so just uninstall their softwares,
2)Try ro reinstall or reset the sofftware in the enviornent you want suppose you want to run it without those devices then also try their reinstallation in that configuration.
3)If it does'nt work then check your computer for device and software errors by running this software http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=1655
this software will remove any unnecassary device of your choice remember though that this will uninstall all it's registery enteries and it's settings except for BIOS settings.
If you don't like my suggestion, then don't give any reply.I hope you don't need to face it again.

I am facing it my self i am not asking u to face it on the behalf of me, and let me tell u one more thing from the begning of this thread ppl r facing the some serious issue from this board and i 100% belive that there few ppl who have gone for this board or change their board to DDR3 rams, right now majority is uisng the same old DDR2 stuff and thats the only reason your seeing such a small number of complain on other hand if the majority is using this board this entire discussion board is fill with the complain from this board and i think u didnt see the screen shots of my previous thread thts why u r still in dark, and i can bet the day i exceed my rams from 4gb to 8gb i will have the same issue as they mention here its a very rare chance tht if ur using the same board and its perfectly working with u and one more thing the board must work as mention in the description simple is that
Glad to hear you're using this: I plan to keep it much more aggressively up-to-date than has been the case in the past, but don't hesitate to let me know if you find errors or need clarifications.
Cheers!

I have the same problem with my pc
My system specs
Motherboard: Intel DP45SG
Cpu: Quad core Q9550
Memory: 4x Kingston 2gb total of 8GB
Video: Nividia 9800GTX+
Audio: Onboard
PSU: Thermaltake 500Watts
i´ve read almost all the post about this issue so i´m going to change the mother board for an ASUS please what model is the correct for my specs
ps intel this is really a bad product
I have the 402 REV motherboard and I have my system runing Windows 7 build 7100 perfectly stable now.
I have the DP45SG motherboard with all the latest BIOS upgrades and I am using 1333 of 8Gig Kingston Memory.
"All" I had to do, ultimately, was up the memory voltage to 1.75 from 1.5 volts.
Kingston tried to tell me 1.5 was fine, but the Intel docs say you can run the memory hot without worrying about damaging it--1.5 was not fine.
I also have a rev 404 board that reboots and looses time. Intel is RMAing the board, but pumping up the volts did help--I think that board has other problems though.
I did also ramp my power supply up to 1000w Antec from a 550 and 650 before I changed the voltage to 1.75 volts.
I have a single Radeon 4890 video card and a 9650 Intel 4 core and this machine is smoking.
I am very happy.
Good Luck...
Are there Intel Board Designers on here? I would be interested in knowing if you have run any BERT tests or voltage fluctuation tests on the 1333 memory at 8GB?
Hi There!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry for the late answer re:dp45sg.
I was facing the same issue the way every one faces. It is really a headake. How ever after I try what every one did I come to conclusion that
the compatibility issue only. To avoid freezing and reboot, I did change the older model of video card pro1650 ati radeon, and it works very perfectly.
the new video card is not compaatible with this motherboard. Any question u can e-mail me Iyasu_i@hotmail.com
Hi there Mbcopeland: I have also 8 Gb Kingston memory and when I set them at 1066 Mhz the system is stable. But, when I change it to 1333 Mhz, the hangs and reboots appears.
Is it possible to up the voltage without damagin the memory? What kind of voltage do you suggest me? Mine is set to the fist value appart from "default", but i think that 1.75 V is too much...
Thank you very much for your help.
Think I finilaly figured it out Ram Prob. This board will only use dual channel ram , No tripple channel ,. 10600 being dual and 10666 being triple . no more beeps on post.
Well count me in as another troubleshooter. I purchased a DP45SG from CDW to test out Windows 7 x64 ultimate (retail, not RC). I also purchased a E8400 as well as 4-2g Crucial 1066 DDR3 chips, 2 WD 1TB AV drives, a Sony SATA DVD/RW, and a 9600GT 1g/ddr3 card. I kept my Antech 500W ps. At first I had the issue of not booting...just the cpu fan would go to high speed and hang. I found out by removing the CPU 4-pin connector and plugging it back in (while powered on) started the POST correctly. (not a good sign). I thought it might have been a short to the case, so I took everything out, rechecked all the mount points, hooked only the power back up (to see if I got the 3 beeps for missing memory)...nothing, just the cpu fan running high.
Okay, I thought, this has got to be a power problem. I ordered a new thermaltake 500w supply, put it in, same problem. I was thinking it maybe the CPU at this point, so I put the CPU in another machine (ASUS), no problems. Got an RMA from CDW and received a new board last week. (this board is rev AA 404). I put everything back together and it powered up. I was able to install Windows 7 (after setting up the RAID in BIOS) and everything seemed to be okay........but then...
After a few tries of fiddling around with virtual PC in Windows 7, I received a KERNEL POWER errror...BSOD, reboot...very frustrating. I immediately checked and noticed that the BIOS was rev 88 and the new one was 121. I finally upgraded to 121 (that's a whole different thread
). Now I'm starting to have the keyboard/mouse lockups very regularly. I'm also thinking that this could be a temperature issue as well. It doesn't seem to lock up when it's cold, only after 2 hours of use or so. I went ahead and bought a Thermaltake tornado cooler, a thermaltake chassis. and a 750W power supply. (the 9600GT card alone takes 450W, so I don't want lack of power to be an excuse).
Right now it's sitting dormant until I get the new parts in.
I might as well put in my $.02 as well. I built up a system around a DP45SG which has been very reliable and stable:
cpu - Q8300,
2 x 2g DDR3 1333 PC10666 OCZ CL7-7-7-20,
3 x hdd,
2 x dvd/cd, 9800gtx video,
Thermaltake TR2 RX 550W psu.
I bought a Q9550 to take advantage of the virtualisation in W7 - the Q8300 has no hardware virtualisation support. Swap chips - no post. Fans spin but nothing happens. Swap back - all is happy. I had the shop check the Q9550 and it booted happily on their test bed. So. Tried single channel (one stick of RAM), tried unplugging everything except video w/1 stick RAM, reset CMOS - no joy. Intel suggested regressing BIOS back to 0073 (it was on 0121). 0073 wasn't available so I tried 0083. Nothing. The Q8300 is back in the box and everything is happy again - except me because I want to use the bloody Q9550. By the way, I'm dual booting xp pro and 7 pro (there's also an installation of 7RC which I'm keeping until I'm sure that everything is migrated to the 7 pro instal).
I've just about reached the conclusion that the DP45SG is a bit of a lemon and is unpredictably unreliable. A bit of research has indicated that currently Asus boards are considered the most reliable - this is corroborated by several sources. I've been using Intel boards for quite a while now but I'm starting to think that the time has come to rethink that strategy.
if anyone can suggest something I haven't yet tried (short of spending hundreds of dollars on different components just to see if it works...) I'd love to hear about it.
cheers
