any news if they have beta drivers for this one?
Hello,
Up to this moment there are no reports or information on an ETA to make this driver available. We suggest checking some time after this operating system has been officially launched. As a matter of fact, being this a new operating system, it might be possible that this comes preinstalled in the official version of the operating system.
Now that the OS has been released, any word on these drivers?
Hello,
Microsoft* Windows* 8 has its inbox driver already, so basically, the operating system already comes with a driver for this device, no need to install any additional driver.
If by in box you mean it comes with it, well that one doesn't seem to work. See this thread: Re: Where is Intel USB 3.0 Extensible Host Controller driver for Microsoft Windows 8?
hi, When Intel will release the driver? USB 3.0 is not working. On Windows 7 we were having speeds of +100 MB/S, now we are having 20MB/S on Windows 8.
Do you have a estimated release date?
In this case as this driver is directly provided by Microsoft, I suggest that you check directly with them concerning this performance issue.

That's a very irresponsible remark made by an Intel representative.
I wish to point out to you, Diego, that the hardware is provided by Intel, not Microsoft. By right, Intel should provide the device driver compatible with Windows 8.
As an Intel customer, I request you to look into my post whose link is as follows: Re: Where is Intel USB 3.0 Extensible Host Controller driver for Microsoft Windows 8?

These are not active in windows 8 boot.wim so this is not completely true. If you want to install windows 8 from an Intel USB 3 port it will fail and ask for drivers, drivers Intel has failed to provide its users.
In the past this has been resolved by merging the correct drivers into boot.wim or browsing to media holding the correct drivers when prompted to just before windows installs. Failing to provide dedicated drivers has effectively nullified these workarounds. These workarounds mind you work flawlessly in windows 7 due to Intel providing dedicated drivers.
