Just a note Intel support considers this drive unusuable failed
I have the same problem of a 160GB drive. Cannot see it when mounting as external hard drive. I had the latest firmware update. It happened after my computer freezed and I did a cold restart from the button.
I have the same drive and had the same thing happen. I managed to fix it by turning the pc off for a few minutes, then turning it back on again. Guess i got lucky.
