Thank you for your post mrfaize. The issue you describe seems to be related to a corrupt/old profile still stored.
If you haven’t already, try uninstalling the drivers software and eliminating the profiles, then reinstalling the software package, without a reboot, and create the profile once again, avoid migrating it from a previous set up.

1- Go to ‘Start’ right-click on ‘Computer’ click ‘Properties’ then on device manager (on the left panel) click on “Network Adapters”\right-click the adapter and select ‘Uninstall’
2- Remove the ‘Intel® PROSet wireless WiFi software’ from Control Panel\ Control Panel\ programs, ‘uninstall a Program’
3- Remove the Wireless folder found at C:\Users\YOUR_PROFILE_NAME\App Data\Roaming\Intel.
4- Install the latest drivers. (Double-click on the file you downloaded, click next, then accept the agreement, select “custom installation’ and make sure that the connection utility and administrator tool are available)
5- Now set up your profile.
If you don’t see the ‘app data’ then you may need to unhide the hidden folders, go to control panel click on ‘large icon view’ on the top, then click on Folder options, click on ‘view’ and click on ‘Show hidden files, folders and drives’
