I've got a Samsung Series 7 Slate, running Windows 7 Professional. When I attempt to launch the WiDi software, it shows the splash screen, instantly closes. There's a message, but it's only there for a split second. (I even tried using a high shutter speed camera to see the message, but it was gone too quickly)
I uninstalled all wifi/video drivers, and attempted to install them in the order suggested on the website, making sure to reboot inbetween each driver install, and had no success.
What else can be tried? It's got the Intel Centrino Advanced N 6230, and Intel 3000 graphics.
I would love to give you more info, but I can't even see the message that instantly disappears.
Thank you in advance,
Jaeron
Very strange. Have you tried running the app as Administrator? Right click on it and select "Run as Administrator"

I have. I even tried launching it from the file, skipping the shortcut in case there was a -flag on it, (Which I verified there wasn't through the properties) and still can't get it to run. It doesn't minimize it either, it's not in the system tray, and can be launched immediately after it shuts itself down.
I have the exact same problem on an HP EliteBook 2560p with the same specs.
Any suggestions?
I'm having the exact same problem. I have an i3-350 asus u30jc that i just switched the hard drive out of. I've also looked into uninstalling/re-installing the intel software in the correct order. Upon loading the application, the widi screen shows up-then closes and for a few milliseconds, appears to show a popup and immediately closes it before it's able to be read.
Please help.
Well... this does not look promising, but I'll ask, it is now 12/20/12, any solution? I too have a Samsung Series 7 Slate with i5-2467M processor and Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6230. Same problem in Windows 7 or 8, Widi app starts and shuts down immediately, A message window appears and also closes immediately. Help!
I have a samsung series 9 ultrabook.
i click, the wheel spins for a second, then nothing.
worse now i also BSOD whenever i connect to my mobile portable hotspot.
even worse - i cant open ANY intel stuff (e.g. the graphics properties in the task bar now does the same thing)
Thank you all for posting.
Probably in this case the best option is to download and install the software versions provided by the computer manufacturer specifically for your model.
Paul, in your case it sounds like software corruption. You may try a system restore to a previous point when it last worked or contact your OEM for assistance.
