I have an Intel X520 SR2 that is connected to an aggregator tap. This device will be used to montior traffic on the link.
The problem is I get the following message when starting the network:
failed to load because an unsupported SFP+ module type was detected.
However, when looking at the card the link light is on and the activity light is blinking.
So the questions: How does the card determine if there is a link? That is does it look to be able to send a signal as well as receive?
What settings are needed to make the card work in this mode?
