Never had any wake from sleep issues until this last BIOS update. Now the system sleeps, but upon wake the system powers on, then shuts off after a second or two, turns back on, then off--until I remove power it is stuck in this power loop. The indicator is flashing through the codes but powers off before it can get anywhere. Once I remove power and turn the system on it boots and Windows 7 (64-bit) resumes.
Does anyone know what changed in this latest BIOS that could cause this? I didn't change BIOS settings and don't see anything in there that is helpful. I did try enabling deep s4/s5 sleep support, no change in the wake from sleep power loop.
More or less have the same problem. System goes into standby at a seemingly random time and does not wake up. I am however not 100% sure whether this coincided with the bios update (yesterday) or has first occured a day prior. Also when experimenting it does not seem to occur when the system is idle (just windows running and nothing else). It does however not seem to coincide with any high demand on the system either.
SAME! I tried to roll back bios after and doesnt fix anything so now I am forced to not use sleep..... keep me posted
Glad that I found this thread. I was searching everywhere for others with this problem recently.
I'm getting BIOS error 1E before it reboots.
I'm not going to try and roll back BIOS in fear of totally breaking it. Will hang out for a few days.
How does one report bugs to Intel anyway? I'm sure they know about this now, but the more people who complain hopefully means the quicker it gets resolved.
Edit: Have since found out that you cant (well end users cant) report bugs to Intel. And they dont provide email support for this board.
Same error code here as well. Thanks for the help intel![]()
Not sure if anyone is using the latest 2161 release, but it still doesnt fix the problem. Also once you go up to 2161 you cant roll back to 2111 or earlier. this is stated in the release notes. 2161 provides support for the 22nm processors.
So nothing new, problem still remains.

Intel does not seem to be interested in fixing old bugs. Every new BIOS update is focused in support of new features such as processors and Windows 8 requirements, and the old annoying bugs are never fixed, and new ones are created!
DP67BG in particular seems to be an abandoned product, despite labeled as "Extreme" has never delivered full power, even the "alternate power LED" never worked (the promised revision 400 was postponed forever, I only see revision 306 for sale today).
I decided to give up this board, and try to return it (Brazilian law allow it for "unfixable" products) or if it's not possible, sell it to someone that's not worried by the bugs.
Updated to latest non-reversable BIOS v2161 and seems ok so far but power loop error 1E still occuring when overclocking.
Good thing it's not that big a deal to OC for me and sleep works fine otherwise.
Sad that Intel can't or won't fix this as it is a known issue.
I still like the board overall but when you buy Extreme Intel.....it aint that extreme. ![]()
So does overclocking work with the new bios 2161? I had to revert to 2076 from 2111 because 2111 did not work for overclocking. Intel doesn't seem to be too interested in creating a bug free bios for this board.
maybe 2161 should only be used with the new 22nm processors? intel probably only tested 2161 with 22nm processors... at least intel is letting us use the new processors on this board...
Good to see that you can at least use your PC.
I'm still getting the power loop. Tried CMOS batter out overnight, and then a BIOS recovery... nothing dont even get video so i cant tell if the BIOS actually updated or not. So the PC is now in the store for warranty repair. 2 weeks turnaround apparently.
I had a webchat session with an Intel rep the other day about this issue who suggested to take the CMOS battery out, he also claimed that there is no such known problem with the board... liars!
Intel thinks just because they dont want to know about the problem, then it doesnt exist. I'm really surprised that Intel hasnt deleted these threads, again to cover up unhappy customers.
It's hard to tell about the overclocking results so I will post some benchmarks and we can try to make sense of them. I was wondering if Intel was just playing with speedstep so I turned it off on the MaxMIPS tests. Sad that overclocking actually hurts performance in some of these tests. ![]()
All tests @ stock 3.4GHz vs OC 4.5GHz.
Which bios are you using to overclock?
Latest, of course.
I just wanted to make sure. Is the power loop error 1E still occurring? You only have this problem when overclocking and not at stock? I think the other guys may have sleep problems at stock speeds.
I think I was being pretty clear if you are reading all the above posts but no problem.
Yes...board is working great at stock settings.
When I overclock, the system will not easily recover from sleep mode.
I have yet to do a fresh install with this bios as this has fixed sleep mode problems before with this board after updating to a newer bios.
Intel is just not paying attention to detail these days. It's all about new product.
