I wanted to chime in here to see if someone from Intel could assist me with an issue here that I am having with my SR2612UR Server with regard to booting Windows Server 2008 R2.
I have the 2x SATA drives (Crucial m4 SSD 256GB) connected to the onboard motherboard in a RAID 1 array. I also have 9x SAS drives connected to to the mid-plane via the Add-In RAID Controller SROMSASMR (AXXROMBSASMR).
I have all VD's created on both the onboard SATA RAID Controller and the Add-In RAID Controller.
I can install Windows Server 2K8R2 just fine but after I get to the point where I put in my Administrator password upon first boot, the system just hangs and will not finish booting.
I have tried disabling the Add-In RAID to just install the OS first and get the system to boot but to no avail.
I have however been successful once getting the system to boot into safe mode under Win2K8. After I rebooted, the system did come up under the normal boot state once but locked up about 2 minutes after boot right after it launched the Server Manager Screen that pops up upon booting into Windows 2K8.
One other odd piece is that issue with the SSD Drives when enabling the onboard SATA RAID. Sometimes when I boot the system up say for instance after the system hangs or even when trying to install the OS, the drive do not come up as recognized and I have to reboot before the onboard RAID Controller sees the 2 internal drives the second time.
Any ideas what could be going on with the Server and the inability to Boot to the OS?
Thanks much,
Eric
