Hi, what happened to the Desktop Gadget for the Intel Turbo Boost Technology Monitor 2.0? Not to mention it looked awesome compared to v2. Are there any plans to develop it, is it even possible with the new monitor?

Thanks, yeah I got the utility version 2.0 and the Intel driver needed for Turbo Boost. Everything works. The question was if there are any plans to develop a desktop gadget for it, for Windows 7? The first version of the monitor was nice and pretty, the second one is visually (and functionally) appalling.

ps. I posted this like last month and no reply from Intel staff. I'm wondering if I had missed something, or if this is how the company operates. So I know. =)

Sadly the difference between the 2 versions as you are already know, is the Version 1 is a Gadget and the 2nd one is just an application.

I dont believe that they are going to fix this.....soon if ever....

ok tnx.

ps. btw., often there's a new undesirable property that shows.. it doesn't keep its position on restart (on primary, or on the secondary screens), it lags the applications under it when on top, etc., etc.

I still prefer the gadget version, I uninstall the version 2 immediately after see the stupid UI, the way i see it, who ever head/developed is doing Inovation for the sake of it.

I ended up uninstalling version 2 as well, I wish they would continue having the gadget version beside the v2. I found the gadget version easier to use and manage.

Uninstalled as well. New version was a major step backwards. Old version wasn't really functional but it was kind of neat. Who ever decided to dump the gadget in favor of an stand alone application really didn't understand the audience at all.

So if I understand corectly, on my new Dell XPSz I have this large desktop annoying icon (application). removing that will not disable the turbo boost, just won't load the monitor?

Thanks!

Dell has the 1.0 gadget on their website. I've only loaded it on dell pcs/laptops so not sure if it will work/run on non dell computers.

Asus also has the gadget at their support site. For now you can download it here http://www.asus.com/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/N53SV/# support Notebooks & Ultrabooks - N53SV Select "Drivers and Support" and your then your OS. Then select "OTHERS" and the file should be under "The Turbo Boost Monitor application". The file works on non asus computers, as it is Intel's gadget.
