Can Intel products improve accuracy of my asset inventory?
Short Answer - Absolutely with the OOB Inventory ability that you can utilize independent of the power state. Long answer - check out this brief that shows the exact value..
The vPro and Centrino Pro products will most likely improve your asset inventory accuracy when you pair them with a powerful management console to do your data consolidation.
Both the Core 2 Processor based desktop and Intel® Centrino® with vProTM Technology mobile platforms have a very simple (yet powerful) usage model of providing inventory information about each system back to a centralized mangement console for data collection and manipulation.
A great example is found on Altiris Juice written by Joel Smith -> check it out
I've also attached a PDF with the results of the Top 10 pilot test results from implementing vPro technology - the results are impressive!
what video card supports windows Aero
we have to run Microstation and terrasolid softwares.we need to know the best motherboard and processor whic supports minimun 4GB RAM and 500 GB harddisk
How does the Intel vPro help improve Remote support? Is there any documentation that would explain it in laymens terms for my users?
A good demo that speaks in layman's terms is here: http://www.intel.com/business/business-pc/demo/demo.htm?iid=tech_vpro+rhc_technologydemo
The "Diagnose" section of the demo specifically has remote support information.
Today on the vPro Radio show I was talking about the benefits of remote mgmt. Here's a quick video on remote mgmt.
The value is to be able to remotely manage those desktops that are either in blue screen, non functional mode or when you want to get into the bios to change something like the boot order, therefore booting to a CD-ROM first vs. the hard drive.
i can use my camera in my pc but when i try to use witn my contact's messenger i can not use it onty appear a send report to microsoft, could you please helpe about this.
We're not ready to deploy AMT - maybe end of 2008 or into 2009. However, many PCs are coming from vendors with AMT enabled in the BIOS and software installed in Windows. Can we remove software services but leave it enabled in the BIOS? Or is BIOS disable required if software services are not running? If we remove AMT software, how does one re-install it?
Thanks,
Russell
Hey,
i just received a new laptop with Intel vPro. For my first visit on Vista, an Intel message was open, this message says: ``Intel Active Management Technology (Intel AMT) status on this computer is: disabled. To enable or disbale Intel AMT, contact your authorized system administrator.``
So does i need to contact Microsoft? And what does i need to say they about this probleme.
Thank you
Is there such a thing as vPro for notebooks?! I have 130 notebooks spread across the planet used by helicopter maintenance techs. I'd like to standardize on Dell 430's and be able to support them in a utopian way!!!
Great question Russell. the dialogue box is just a notification that AMT (Intel Active Management Technology) is turned off in the BIOS. You don't have to contact microsoft to resolve, however I would look into more Intel vPro Technology features & how they can assist in your IT Management & Security of your clients. If you need a quick game plan, check out the following post by Russ.
