Blue Screen on Media Center DVD Playback with i3

I just upgraded a home-built PC to an Intel i3 Processor with built-in Intel HD Graphics connected to a Sony TV over HDMI. I've installed the latest, posted video driver from Intel however most times I attempt DVD playback in Windows Media Center on Windows 7 the screen freezes with macroblocking and then 10-15 seconds later I see a blue screen that the video scheduler encountered an unexpected error. When I do see normal DVD playback I've never been able to stop it and resume without seeing this behavior. Can someone tell me if this is a known issue? I'd be happy to provide extra info if necessary. If there's some chipset feature I could disable to work around this I'd like to know.

Also I noticed that during DVD playback in Media Center, the video gets pillar-boxed for some reason in a way that Media Center can't compensate for. I also see this in Windows Media Player. Other playback (RecTV, etc) and blu-ray via Cyberlink works fine.

Here's my diagnostic output:

Intel® HD Graphics (Core i3)
