Hello!
We have an Intel S5500WB server board installed in a Chenbro RM13204 chasis, and connected 4 ram modules (2 to each side), 2 CPUs, and nothing else (no hds). When we turn it on, the Diagnostic LEDs at the back go directly to 0x04 (LED 2 is the only one that lights up) and stay there. There is no video from the onboard video (the jumpers are set for internal video override). All the jumpers are set to default. Does anyone know what happened? Is our board broken or is there something we are not doing correctly?
I assume you're using a 12V only SKU right? What's the PBA# of your board, and what's the CPU and memory model? Is there any beeps?
Hello! Thanks for replying!
Yes it is a 12V only SKU. The PBA is 40367-306. The CPU is a xeon 5500 w/ Intel stock server HS unit on top. The memory is kingston 2GB PC3-8500 Parity REG CL7 240-pin DIMM. We have 4 of these. When we press the on button, there is a very loud single "beep".
I'd suggest you start with one CPU and one DIMM first. You may also try to remove all DIMMs and power on the system, and see if you get 3 long beeps. If yes please check if your memory is in the Tested memory list - notice the last "I" for Kingston DIMMs, which means qualified with Intel boards.
We removed everything except one CPU in CPU slot 1 (no DIMMS), and still get the one beep along with only LED 2 on. We can try moving the other CPU into slot 1, but I guess at this point it's most likely our board that is bad? Our memory was not Intel qualified.
Do you have all 3 power supply connectors plugged in? Thetwo 12v - 2X4 PIN to J9D2 and the J5K1 as well as the J9D1 auxpwr connector?
