first timers who encounter this kind of symptom can probably take a glance at this http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/CS-030386.htm
I already tried every thing, diferent graphic cards, diferent power supply, (Also I'm using a sai ), diferent monitors....
the issue apears when i reboot the computer or swich on for second time (if computer is swiched off less than 5 o 6 hours)
I reboot cmos, upgrade bios... sand still having the same problem
any new ideas?
thanks
Seems there is a fair few of us experiencing issues with this board. They are all slightly different but are all similar. For example, my DX58SO will work fine for months and then if i turn it on or restart one day, I get issue of no video output or artefacts on screen before video goes blank again. I also replaced graphics card, power supply etc. it must be a fundamental issue with these boards.
Well and also i have the same problems since today. It's a completely new build system and also no boot, visuals, no beeps, nothing. Checked everything out against all steps here mentioned.
The problems for me begun after i've removed the Intel Desktop Control Center Software, for a new install of it. After that, no boot. When i hit power-button, is goes on for 2 seconds, then off. After two second it will go on by itself but further no results.
What's happening here? RMA?
**Update***
Well i've restarted the system again by setting the jumper in configuration mode and set de Bios to the default settings. For now the system started again (don't forget your raid-set if you have any), and running ok.
As i looked any further, i've noticed that i forgot to install the .NET 3.5 release from microsoft, which is a prerequisite for the Intel DCC, but i do'nt know if this is the issue that i cannot boot normally after the install without it.
After restart everything worked fine, but not the Intel Desktop Control Center (new release). It will simply not start, W7 directly give an error cannot start.
Maybe this helps some people here for booting in combination of DCC.
Hi,
my DX58SO was working for the last two months, but started rebooting and finally no boot at all, so I have found that it will boot with 1 or 2 DIMM sticks, but not with all 3 in tripple channel. I have checked RAM with memtest, no errors found. Have you tried removing RAM sticks and see what happens?
I dont know really where is the problem..?
Strange but true.
I've experienced the same problem as so many others using a DX5S0 with Corsair DDR3 XMS memory regarding the "boot roulette" issue. This is going to wound weird, but it's worked for me and 9-10 clients I resold the mboard to (don't ask how many times I performed random acts to develop this)...
Step 1 - Cut it off and either unplug it or use the hard switch next to the plug on your powersupply if available. Wait at least 30 seconds.
Step 2 - Press and Hold the 'power on ' button on the front of your machine (eg press it in and don't release)
Step 3 - Use your 3rd hand to now switch on the power supply or plug in the cable (while you're holding the power button in).
Step 4 - (and this takes careful listening to the machine) keep holding the button for about 2-3 sec. Listen for a mechanical sound as it powers up b/cuz once it passes, you need to let go of the button.
Step 5 - BINGO - my 10 boot.
So in summary - power off cold, depress and hold the power up button on the case, re-energize the PSU, release after about 2 seconds.
I can tell if I've done it right by looking at the status light on my monitor. If one just switches the computer on in an ordinary fashion, the fans and drives will spin up, but the monitor's status light remains amber and it will sit there forever. If you're lucky and the above works for you too, once you release the power button the monitor's status light will turn green and you'll seee the BIOS and logo text fly by.

I'm also facing the same problem now after using it without problems for 6 months. Sometimes Mr.Daves idea is working.
