Hi Friends, I am a resident of Kolkata, India
I have a Tata Photon+ Connection, a Mobile Broadband Connection on USD Stick.
More detail can be found here.
I have been using the Connection with no Problem on my Laptop under Windows XP and Ubuntu Dual boot System for months now.
I recently(2 weeks back) bought another Computer and when I am trying to Connect on Windows XP I am getting the following Error.
Error 777: The connection attempt failed because the modem or other connecting device on the remote computer is out of order.
The System I got is,
Core 2 Duo 2.93 GHZ (E7500) 3MB Processor
Intel Desktop Board DG41RQ.
I also tried to Connect using Ubuntu 9.04 but wasnt able to do that. I saw the following error in my /var/log/syslog
networkmanager <warn> dial_done(): no carrier
I called the Tata Indicom Service Guys and their Engineer visited my Home to help me resolve the issue. The reinstalled Windows XP on my machine and tried to connect but with no luck.
They were not able to resolve the issue.
They say because the Connection is working on other Systems. Its probably a Problem in the Motherboard.
I called the Place from where I purchased my System, they say as everything else is working fine (Computing and OS installation etc..) its not their problem.
I am not sure what to do now.
In the mean time I Downloaded all types of Drivers that could have solved the issue but they didn't help either.
Please Help me.
Tata Photon has a weird and Strange Problem
If you change the direction/Position of the Photon Data Card the Signal strength would improve and you would be able to connect.
