RB. you can find that led light in your bios settings. It's your harddrive activity light. just disable it.
Hi, you can find the settings that you need in the bios, into Configuration tab, On board devices menu.
Internal LED bright level and blinking 
That's correct, not the Hard Drive LED. It's the option in the Configuration-->On-Board Devices-->Internal LED Brightness Level
Just set it to off to disable it 
just curious -- what's the function of this? is it to provide light so that when you're looking inside the case you can see better? (just my guess) I remember cutting it off cause it was kinda bright but since then I haven't thought about it.. usually use a little LED keychain light I got at the store when I have troubles seeing in there. Didn't know if it was tied to a function or was an indicator of something (like the CPU/CPU voltage led's)...
My assumption was that the light was pure bling.
The original purpose was to light up some headers on the board which are hard to see (Front Panel Header, USB headers, BIOS config jumpers) but as you can tell that area of the board is VERY stuffed with components. So the LED just would not fit there and it was moved to it's current location. It does provide some light to those hard to see areas so I does still have some functionality, but yes at the moment it's mostly Bling.
Can you guys give some feedback on what you would have thought about that LED if it was actually pointing to the areas I talked about? How about if it was blue instead of white... but blue with some UV frequency so while lighting the headers it also made UV reactive components in your system glow. Would that be cool?
