Looking to Max Processor to board specs, anyone know Intel processors well

I have a Gateway gt5404 to upgrade processor currently its running a socket 775, Intel Pentium D 915 (Dual Core 2.8Ghz each core) 64-bit processor. Motherboards has a 800MHz FSB... If you can help me figure out the make / model of the best processors available for this computer I would very appriciative.

I'd suggest looking into a newer computer or at least an upgraded motherboard - a 1600 MHz FSB or a better QPI (6.4) board.
