3 sata drives, 1gb each, seagate, in array.
twice, in the past three weeks, this just built system has had a array member drop out. In one case, the rebuild started automatically. This time, the member had to be changed back to normal before the rebuild would start.
this system is a file "server" using vista pro 64, Is there someway I can be notified by email if the array becomes degraded? I see nothing in the manual.
If you install 8.8.0.1009 you will likely have no more drives doping out.

This version does work with the P55 chipset as when I got my new board the problems started happening again with 8.9.
Random drive fails with new Matrix Storage Manager 8.9
thanks for that Peter.
Let me add two more questions.
1. Re: raid failure.
Is there any mechanism to have the pc notify me by email if the raid fails again?
2. temperature and fan speed
Is there any recommended software to monitor temperature and fan performance, and again, email me if it falls outside of normal?

This works:

Another identical situation, same solution. I appeciate your help here re: raid drivers. Will someone let me know if there's an update to them that's safe to take in the future? Or should I stay on 8.8 forever?
Hi Ccrb
Raid configuration is power hungry. What Power Supply are you using?

Good question. A 500w supply. and only 3 drives.
Hi Ccrb
Could you please provide the exact model number of the power supply?

a new issue has appeared on one of two identical DP55WB, and I mean identical. Vista 64, raid-5 3 disks. In all ways identical. One of them is shutting down, usually after hours. a look at the log and I see many of these, just prior to the shutdown:
The server was unable to allocate a work item 1 times in the last 60 seconds. (event ID 2021)
All I have done so far, just now, is to tell Microsoft not to install patches (and reboot) automatically.
suggestions appreciated.
I used to have the same problem... Since I don't want to install a logparser i wrote this little programm: http://sourceforge.net/projects/irstmon/
Maybe some People could use it

Peter,
following up on this original thread. We threw Vista overboard for Win 7 Pro 64. And I'm having the same drop outs on the raid 5. Will your recommended version work for Win 7?
Also my NIC errors out on every boot. Never did on Vista. Any ideas on this? It's a pain to show the customers how to go into device mgr, delete and rescan although it works every time.
