I had a brief power outage in my appartment and my computer just barely lost power and reset.
my intel ich9 raid5 array complained it wanted to rebuild.
said and done, matrix storage manager started at windows startup and began to rebuild
20 hrs later, when it was supposed to finish, it started rebuilding again.
another 20hr wait, and matrix manager just went rebuilding AGAIN from 0%
whats happening, why is matrix manager wanting to constantly rebuild the array???
i got a suggestion that it could be a faulty power supply that sent my array in to a constant rebuild loop, i changed my power supply but now the rebuild has started over again........i upgraded to the latest matrix manager too...can my ram be faulty??
ehhh...matrix manager just reset the rebuild in the middle of second run since psu switch.....about 6 hrs was left...and suddenly it was back at 0% again...im shutting down this computer now. can one of the drives be faulty??
I'm having a similar problem. I replaced a failed drive with an identical model, and ever since I started the rebuild the system has been looping the rebuild. It gets to 99% and then back to 0%. It takes about 38 hours per cycle, and has been running for about a week and a half. I just installed the latest Matrix Storage Driver, and I'll see if that helps. I'm running an Intel DG965WH with 2x Samsung HD103UJ and 1x Seagate ST31000340AS.
try not to use the latest matrix storage driver, some people (including me) have been affected by nasty bugs in v8.9, but v8.8 works ok.
See thread "Random drive fails with new Matrix Storage Manager 8.9" - http://communities.intel.com/thread/5036
I had the same problem a couple years back. Turns out that the four Maxtor SATA drives I had purchased were not compatible with a Raid. I'm not kidding. For a month or more, newegg just kept sending me new drives as one after the other reported itself as failed and they weren't . Finally found a note that they were not compatible on some blog Put in four Western Digitals and haven't missed a lick since.

May not apply here IF the problem happened when changing to 8.9 from 8.8.

Ok are you saying your using Matrix Storage Manager 8.9 and don't have any problems? Because THAT would be interesting if you can post your spec's here so I and many others can work out WHY your not having a problem and we are.
