Hi all!
I have to do flash of the Intel LAN embedded eeprom of my Lenovo X201Tablet(82577LM Gigabit Network Connection).
In this eeprom there's the MAC address that I have to change(now is corrupted: all F)
On Intel website they have "LAN Software Tool: Intel® Network Connections Tools"
Here, under Ethernet controllers:
http://edc.intel.com/Platforms/Core-QM57/#hethernet
In this Tool suite there is a very small application eeupdate.exe that allow to change and reflash the embedded eeprom.
But i can't download it, becouse it is required a "Privileged Account".
But we can't have a Privileged Account because we are a small company.
How could I do?
Thank you all!!
Simone
You should contact Lenovo for help on how to fix your image.

Mark, could you help me?
Why this tool is so hard to get?
Thank you ![]()
Those tools are for system designers and manufacturers and not available to the general public, which is why you could not access the tool. One of the tools is the executable you mentioned, which does give you access to the area where your MAC address is stored (as well as other areas.)
Do you have an Intel field sales engineer for your company? They can provide you with the necessary forms and get you setup for the access you need.
If your company does not have an Intel rep, then send me a private message in the community, and I will work on getting you what you need.
By the way, if the only issue is the MAC address being all F's, you could configure a Locally Administered Address to get network connectivity. In Windows, The Locally Administered Address in the Advanced tab of the network connection properties in Windows Device Manager.

Thank you Mark I have sent you a message.
Hello,
I am in need of the Network Connections Tool to perform some electrical compliance testing on my companies carrier board hardware. My company purchases a COM Express module with an Intel 82567LM Gigabit controller and so we do not deal directly with Intel and have no rep. Would it be possible to acquirer this software? If not, is there some other way to enter the Test Modes with the standard driver?
Thank you for your time,
Daniel
