IMS module swap

Maybe I am being a little apprehensive, but I have a new module for a mfsys25v2 (with newer processors &fully populated with ram) that I would like to swap with an existing module in a mfsys25v1 chassis. Are the modules compatible between chassis, and will it be as simple as powering down the server module, swap, and power up? I am running VMware with serveral servers powered by the current module. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Well which compute module is that? And which firmware version do you have on your chassis?

It is compute module MFS2600KI. Current firmware version of the frame is 6.6.100.20101015.23953. If I upgrade the firmware will the module be compatible?

MFS2600KI is only supported on MFSYS25V2. It's not compatible with MFSYS25.
