I am trying to rebuild my RAID 1. I have an ASUS P-5E mobo with an Intel X48 Express chipset running WinXP Pro 32-bit and two Seagate 500GB SATA HDDs. Every time I try open the Matrix Storage Console via shell.exe (which is in my C:\ Programs) I rcv an error msg that the RAID and SATA plugins did not install because the drivers are installed incorrectly. I have loaded the drivers (the same ones I used when I originally set up the now-failed RAID which, BTW, are identical to the current drivers D/Ld today from Intel) again & again via Windows Setup & F6. I continue to rcv the same "installed incorrectly" message.
I have attempted to re-install MSC using IATA_ENU.exe or IATA88_ENU.exe but always rcv an error msg that the PC does not meet minimum requirements.
I've hit a wall. Please help!

Hello,
We suggest that you test and use Intel® Rapid Storage Technology as Intel® Matrix Storage Manager is a mature application that has been discontinued.

Thank you very much for replying, Diego.
However, the problem continues regardless whether it is MSC or RST..........
I have an ASUS P5E mobo with an Intel CORE 2 duo E6850 CPU
The chipset is Intel X48 Express which includes the 82801 IR I/O controller (ICH9R)
There are two 250GB SATA drives connected
The O/S is WinXP Pro (32bit) SP2
Why do I get this error message:
“The computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software”
when I try to update the Matrix Storage Console or try to install Rapid Storage Tech???
You should know that this exact system operated as a RAID1 for 4½ years before one drive became “degraded”. It met the minimum requirements then, so why is there a problem now?

Hello,
Try using Intel(R) Rapid Storage Technology 11.2 instead as 11.6 may not be compatible for your system.
Thanks again, Diego --- but 11.2 is what I have tried to install.

Other than that you can use IRST 9.6 posted at:
SUCCESS!
Diego, to my great surprise, your most recent suggestion did the trick; I now have MSC again!
After umpteen tries, I had resigned myself to live with only the Matrix Storage Manager (MSM).
Thank you for your persistence.
