This is FYI.
I added an Intel PRO/1000 GT desktop adapter (PCI) card to my HP Z210.
After re-starting machine, the Intel adapter NIC came up, but the on-board NIC didn't start with the typically very handy "Device cannot start(Code 10)".
Drivers etc were all up to date.
The solution I eventually found:
Disable AMT in the bios.
Now both my NIC's come up.
