The G33/31 Express Chip[set Family (GMA3100) only support OpenGl 1.4.

Adobe Photoshop CS6 requires support for OpenGL 2.0.

This would explain why some of the features are grayed out or not functioning.

My HP (specs here HP Pavilion p6112p Desktop PC Product Specifications - HP technical support (Andorra - English)) came with this graphic card pre-installed. I think it's part of the mother board (it's "integrated"). But they also say that my computer "supports PCI Express x16 graphics cards." Any idea which inexpensive (just popped $200 for CS6) Intel card might suffice?

Intel does not make discrete or "add on" graphics adapters. However, there are many PCIE graphics adapters available online and in local retail outlets that will work perfectly in your system. I would recommend doing a bit of research on that latest products available and consider one that supports the features you need and is in your budget.
