Hi,
i got a INTEL RS2BL080 Raid Controller and want to expand the capacity of my RAID 5 Drive
consisting of 4 already configured drives and 2 aditional unconfigured drives.
According to the documentation i started the Raid WEB Console 2 Version 9.000. Select the Drive group and ....nothing ...
there is no menu to modify the drive group.
As in the online help of the Raid WEB console there should be a "Reconstruction wizard" under Operations.
But .... there is no menu "Operations" to start this wizard.
What is going on in the Raid Web Console 2 ??? Why is there no menu to modify the drive group?
Next missing point: There should be a "Adaptive Read Ahead mode" accoring to the documentation,
but there is no adaptive read ahead mode available in the menus.
Pls help.
Thanks
Pete
1. Right click on Drive Group, and then click Modify Drive Group. Or, select Drive Group, then click Go To => Drive Group => Modify Drive Group in the menu.
2. Not all options are available, depends on your RAID controller, driver version and RAID configuration.
Did you ever find a fix for this? I have the same problem with the same card using RWC 12.01.03.01, I can't work out how to remove a drive in order to replace it (it's currently functioning but showing increasing numbers of errors).
The manual implies the Operations tab should be there but it isn't.
Thanks, Simon
@Simon,
Under physical view for the drives you should be able to set the drive to OFFLINE.
If not, just pull it and then replace it with like. The RAID Controller will do its thing with a Hot Spare if configured, or automatically incorporate the newly replaced drive back into the RAID array by initiating a REBUILD.
NOTE: Have a backup first. Did I mention, have a _Known Good_ backup first? That means that it is tested. Right? ![]()

Thanks, that worked and saved me having to power off & on.
Hi Ed and Philip. i have got SR1640TH board and RS2BL080 on it. when I configured the raid drive it has made the virtual drive and taken the hard drives. I have successfully installed the ESXI. but after that one drive becomes corrupted and when I tried to replace brand new same drive, the vm is showing as degraded. ow can I ensure that in future if I replace any hard drive it rebuilds automatically and keeps my raid alive. I am a newbee in this and gone through few manuals but not a clear help.
any help is much appreciated.
Best practice is to create a hot spare, so in case any drive fails the hot spare kicks in and rebuild starts automatically.
