First of all - I know there is a similar discussion already, I've seen it, I've read it. But since the problem is marked as solved and yet, there is no solution whatsoever provided and no response from Intel for 3 months, I decided to start a new one. Maybe the fact that last one is flaged as "solved" puts it under Intel's radar?
So...
Yesterday I bought some new hardware.
Asus P8Z77-V mobo
Intel Core i5 3570k cpu
Corsair Vengeance 2x4gb 1600mhz ram
everything runs on win7 pro 64 bit.
Problem was pretty well described already (http://communities.intel.com/thread/29246?start=0&tstart=0), but let me recap it.
After installing Intel hd4000 graphic driver and rebooting system, everything runs just fine till the system boot. After it's done, there is no signal. No graphics whatsoever. The display goes into power save mode. I can still log in (blind), I can still force restart (again, blind). I can hear sounds. I can use remote desktop to access my system, and I used it to remove said intel hd4000 graphics driver. After that, everything went back to normal, meaning that generic windows driver works fine.
I tried all the solutions provided in the other discussion - plugging/unplugging the cable, installing win8 drivers, removing registry entries, etc. Nothing worked. I checked few BIOS settings, neither of them changed anything.
I have fully updated OS, I have the newest BIOS, and all other drivers.
Also, I can't check if VGA port works, because my monitor was really budget one and has only DVI port.
So, dear Intel. A solution? THE solution? ETA on new drivers maybe? Any comment? I believe that spending 300$ in local currency and having such problems entitles me to some answers... so please, any contact would be nice.
Best regards
Hi Jakub
What model of display do you have?
Samsung bx2335
what is the graphics driver verison that you are using? Is there a DVI port on the motherboard or you are using some HDMI->DVI convertor for connecting to Samsung bx2335
Currently I'm using generic windows driver (ver. 6.1.7600.16385) and it works fine...ish (I can see, I can use system, access web pages, watch movies etc, but can't play games.)
I tested win8 driver mentioned in the other thread (ver. 9.17.10.2792) with no success.
I tried the most recent win7 intel driver (ver. 8.15.10.2622)
I use DVI port on my mobo. No converters or any other things, just plain DVI-DVI cable.
The most recent official Windows 7 driver is 8.15.10.2761.
Well, I trusted intel download site... getting the one You mentiond right now, will report how it worked later on today.
Nope, nothing's changed. Same problem.
I dug up my old gf8800 video card, managed to start it and it works after I forced bios to use PCIE graphics... even though I can't see a thing before windows boot, but since it's a temporary solution, I'll let it slide.
have you in bios, Dual Monitor activated ? and set iGPU to primery display.
general question to Intel:
- How many defects and/or issues ending in a CPU exchange have you got reported on the i5 3570k CPU so far?
I am concerned by the same problem (see other thread) and I am also concerned that the CPU could have an issue.
cheers
@Jakub, does your display stay blank, even in bios?
In my case, no signal only occurs after logging into windows, but it always comes back after a few seconds. This happens several times before it stabilizes.
