Problem since installing new drive

I recently bought a Seagate 750GB Hard Drive for my Toshiba Satellite L350 to replace my 500GB Seagate Hard Drive. After installing Windows 7 Premium I tried to get updates and set up my email. I got error messages on both fronts. So after searching Google it seems that anything over Seagate 300GB needs to have Intel Rapid Storage installed. I don't know why as I didn't need this with the 500GB Drive. So I downloaded v9 IRST and it did the trick email & updates working no problem. BUT...I found that when I inserted my data discs' Autoplay would not start. I tried everything I could think of Control Panel, Autoplay settings hunted the internet but to no avail. I even reinstalled Windows7 again. I still got nowhere. So I uninstalled Intel Rapid Storage, restarted, inserted the data disc and the Autoplay worked giving me the Option to "Open folder to view files". So in order for me to have auto play working properly I have to do with Intel Rapid Storage and if Intel Rapid Storage is not installed I will be unable to use Updates or Windows Mail. Has anyone come across this before, if so what is the solution? Thanks for any insight.

Somehow I got it sorted. I went on site and got the laptop scanned for updates etc. none were available. Then I opened the program up and went through everything. I checked the Updates & Mail, all was running ok, then I checked the data disc & memory stick both opened up in explorer. So I may never know what the problem was or what fixed it.
