I noticed something. On this motherboard my CPU is running at 3.69 GHz with turbo boost on.
But 1 month ago when i had an ASUS board it was running at 3.9 GHz
On this page Intel® Core™ i7-3770K Processor (8M Cache, up to 3.90 GHz) it shows:
Max Turbo Frequency
Maybe someone knows what is going on. Is 3.69 correct? Maybe ASUS boards has some auto overclocking thing that makes it 3.9? How is it for you?
New bios out that has UEFI and USB 3 front panel fixes. Going to try it now. Reporting back soon.
Edit: USB 3.0 Front panel now working. I get messages about "Power surge on usb hub" but the USB 3 flash drive that i connected works fine.
UEFI works!!!! Installed and booted Windows 8 in UEFI mode . There was a issue that Windows 8 install got stuck at end, i saw a blue background and a mouse pointer only. Had to reboot PC. Also when i pressed reboot from windows windows it got stuck while rebooting. Maybe is a issue with Windows 8 and not the motherboard.
Edit 2: It does not get stuck on reboot. It just boots longer. I waited 15-30 seconds and it rebooted fine.
I'm still having an issues with this board. On new bios (0045) at startup - OS load LED is not active, and power LED is blinking all the time. After S3 (sleep) power LED = on (not blinking), and system load LEDs there are active only two of them after S3.
Have u got the same?
Edit: after cold start power LED is on... finally but Board Status LED "Operating System Start" still not working.
I have a wierd issue. When I Boot up my machine the following happens:
Everything powers up but I have a blank screen for about 5 seconds
the Intel screen comes up and stays on for about 3 seconds then a blank screen again for about 2 seconds then the intel screen comes back on for about 3 seconds and then boots into windows. When the first intel screen comes up I cant press F2 etc. Nothing happens till the second boot screen comes up and then if I press F2 I can get into the Bios. It is taking about 15 to 20 seconds for Windows to boot up from a power cycle. Also if I have the sound enabled on boot up it plays but the sound is very distorted and the first boot screen will stay on for about 4 seconds. This is intermittent and happens about 80% of the time when I start my machine up. It does this with Bios 039 and 045. The odd time when I boot it will hang on the Intel screen for 10 to 30 seconds. Once I am booted into WIndows it works great. I do not have UEFI enabled. I think I have tried every possible setting in the BIOS to rectify the problem. I even reset the Bios defaults and still no difference
One other anoying thing is that when it boots to the windows login screen My mouse does not work for about 2 seconds (microsoft Cordless mouse/keyboard) I used this mouse and keyboard on my old machine and they were both fuctional and I did not have to wait. I also noticed that I have to use a USB keyboard to get into the BIOS as the cordless wont function on start up
The folowing is my setup
Kingston Hyper X Ram 2X4GB
Corsair H100 water cooler
Kingston 120GB SSd
Seagate 1 TB Sata III 64MB cache X 2 (setup as RAID 0
I tried your solution but does not work for me. After i reboot PC it blinks again. Only thing that works is to unplugging the power cord and then turning on PC. But after i reboot windows or if i go to sleep and turn on PC after several hours without unplugging the cord first, it starts blinking again. I know its only "cosmetical" but its very annoying because it is not supposed to be like that. Was not like that with bios 0035 and 0039.
I am currently running the 0045 BIOS and can confirm the 4 pin fan headers do control the speed of 3 pin fans.
One problem I noticed after flashing the 0045 BIOS, my monitor no longer goes to the screensaver mode. I am running Windows 7 64-bit.
Also, as stated by others, the power supply light blinks when the PC is up and running.
