Hi there,
Just a simple question, I am trying to update my bios from 039 to 045 but it keeps on failing. Tried WinPE and direct USB F7 options. It stops at "updating Intel Management Engine [failed!]" and that's it. Tried to downgrade to 035 but that didn't work either. Seems like the BIOS update function is completely broken.
The error code it spat out is:0x8000000000000000000015, 1527
Has anyone had similar problems? Thanks.
have you checked the BIOS related jumper on your mainboard? In which position you have it? There is a possibility to recover the BIOS and I would check that w/ the manual, it's worth a try.
I experience the same issue trying to update from 039 to 045.
It says "Flash update failed!" and "Updating Intel Management Engine [failed!]"
The error code on mine is similar to yours, but maybe you had a typo as my last number is "1527" not "152":
0x8000000000000000000015, 1527
I am trying to resolve the USB 3 Front Header issue with this update. I am trying to get an Antec Sonata Solo II case with front USB 3.0 ports to work.
Odd issue. Try to update bios from Windows or some other option. USB 3 front issue is solved for me so i guess it will be solved for you also if you manage to update bios.
I tried all methods including Windows, DOS and F7. Can someone at Intel please help us in resolving this?
You are more likely to get help by chatting with Intel support or calling them by phone.
I had the same issue happen. I launched the update EXE from Win7 and it said it had to reboot the computer. Computer never reboots. After about an hour I boot the computer by pressing down the power button and the fan kicks on and turns off repeatedly....don't see any post.
+1. Same issue here - the latest update seems to have completely bricked the board. Applied the update from within Windows, did the prompted reboot. Lights on, fans start up, cycles through some post codes and at the moment before it powers off the code '14' is displayed on the onboard post code viewer. Ugh. Unplugged all USB and hard disks and still no go. No Video (removed the AMD card I had in and now using HDMI only). Doesn't seem to even like recovery BIOS now either...
Replying to my own posting - after practically pulling everything out of the motherboard, doing a BIO recovery about a dozen times (nothing on the screen - no video so wild guessing as to if it's completing or not, testing, retrying with the jumper back on, clearing CMOS etc) and putting it all back together including the AMD graphics card back in it, seems to have come good with ver 45. So I'm now running ver 45 without any apparent issues.
Really annoying, a BIOS update surely shouldn't cause this sort of thing to happen, and to add insult to injury I still have no idea what the cause was, nor what specifically fixed it.
I got the same problem from 039 to 045. I have bought the mainboard with 035 and must use the Recovery-BIO to update to 039, because the Express-Update failed also, but the Recovery was sucessful. Not so yesterday: the Express-Update failed at the Firmware-Update for the ME and the Recovery-BIO hangs at the digit 21 for Memory-Detection. I use this Dual-Channel-Kit G.Skill TridentX F3-2400C10D-8GTX. This kit is especially constructed for the Z77-Chipset and it works fine at 2400 MHz with the BIOS-Revision 039. In this way I have load the BIOS-Defaults to tune done everything an the BIOS-Updates to 045 are failing also and now I believe that this is not the real problem. I have also disconnected all periphals and internal devices including my Zotac Nvidia GeForce GTX 680. I´m looking forward to get an answer from an Intel-Supporter. THX
Don't update from Windows as it can go wrong. Update from Windows only if the other options fails.
I am also having this issue, board shipped with 0035, and have been unable to update to 0039 or 0045.
Fails at the Management Engine part of the update with the same 0x8...05/1527 error
Neither the Windows based or USB based update works.
Any new developments?
FWIW I too have an AMD 5850 installed...
Well I have a Geforce 460GTS, I successfully upgraded whatever original version I had to 039 and it's pretty much stuck there ever since. Don't think graphics card have much to do with it.
Now I´ve used F7-Iflash-Update from a FAT-formatted non-bootable USB-Stick from 039 to 045 .... and it was sucessful. In front of all other possibilities including express, winpe and recovery are failed.
I've tried F7 method with BIO file, iFlash from bootable DOS based USB drive, Express Bios via Windows and attempted the recovery method all to no avail...stuck on 0035
