DZ68DB dead after flashing bios 0040 to 0042

the topic speaks all the problem i faced ever since bios 0040 came out..

 

i flashed my bios today to 0042 and i notice i cannot flash using the thumbdrive.. the bios flash utility showed Unknown Device .. well

 

i almost manage to flash to bios 0042 by putting the.bio file on my c:/ drive and navigate the flash directory to it in the F7 mode..
well when i proceed the flash, the operation started and i notice when my flashing reaches "Memory itialization" my pc restarted and it never woke up again .. in despite bios recovery and change the pin configurations and download the bio file into the thumbdrive.. there is not light activity on my thumbdrive when i plug into my pc..

    I'm not sure what you have tried so I apologize for asking...

     

    • What happens if you move the BIOS Configuration Jumper to Configure?
    • What happens if you remove the BIOS Configuration?
    • NOTE: change the jumper only after power has been removed from the system.

     

    And I have some questions about your BIOS settings before you did the update...

    • What was your BIOS version before you flashed to 0040?
    • Did you have the "Flash Update Sleep Delay" setting to "Enable" in the BIOS?  I have found that my mother board/power supply combination requres this.  Although I have not tried BIOS 0040 or 0042, any prior BIOS version would not flash properly and cause issues.
    • Did you follow the flowchart at Desktop Boards - Updating the BIOS on Intel� 6 Series Chipset Boards?

              No.. i never come across this..

     

              yes.. my board was running on 0040 ...

    I have exactly the same issue with the same procedure

    I try to update bios 032 to 042 ( with thumbdrive and F7 bios utility)

    Result : I have the same behavior

    Now the mother board do nothing(no beep when I remove ram) no power on USB ( the mouse is not powered) and the restore mode is not working.

    An issue on the bios 042?

    It is the first time in 20 years that I  crash the motherboard during a bios update.

    Intel motherboard ? perhaps ?

    I will change to asus P8H77
